A sour ale brewed with cranberries. This beer’s light bready malt character serves as an undertone to fruity, lavender, and herbal notes created by our own sour culture. The cranberry gives a subtle note in both the aroma and taste of this dry and complex ale. Pair this beer with swordfish, or fried chicken (a free will lunch time favorite).

Bottled 8/17, bought at Perkasie brewery. I don’t usually buy sours but I like to support local. Fantastic sour sipper, cranberry at the very end.

Poured from a tall bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip. 2017 vintage.
L: Nearly clear light golden pour. Big foamy white head leaves stellar lacing.
S: Tart and funky... white wine and musty oak barrels.
T/F: Follows the note... mildly sour/tart without an overt pucker. Complex... funky... strong white wine and grape must. Unripened fruits, pear,... tart cranberry in the background. Oak character comes through nicely. High carbonation gives it a creamy-ish mouthfeel... sticky at the finish.
O: A super complex Wild Ale from free will... picking up the white wine, barrel, and cranberry that are promised. Delicious and with the low ABV super drinkable.

16.9 ounce bottle poured into a teku glass. 2016 vintage. Description is a wild ale aged in chardonnay oak casks for one year with red and white cherries.
L - pale golden color, hazy hue, medium light effervescence, no lacing left on a glass. Moves very fluidly with hardly any separation.
S - notes: lemon/lime, dry white wine, hint of cranberries and oak, pineapple, plastic hose. Not an unusual range for white wine or sour ales. Funk is not too pungent and has the same aromatics as white wine. Very pleasant
T - juicy pineapple, sour lime, tangy cranberry, sauvignon blanc, plastic hose, witbier profile. Remnants of oak are picked up in the after taste.
F - light viscosity but very fluid. Medium plus acidity, dry and refreshing on the palate. Lingering sour funk on the mouth reminiscent of dry white wine or a tart apple juice.
O - this is top shelf Free Will right here. Almost a shot in the dark compared to some of their more aggressive sours like Brew and Destroy but have always enjoyed their sour line-up. A true product of craft in the brewing world. Cheers!

Tart. Almost gueuze like. Apple, musty, herbal. Sweet tart candy-like finish.

Poured into a stimmed goblet bottled in 2016. Pours a dark yellow with a 3 inch white head that settled very quickly leaving little too no lace.
Smell is musty, grapes, sour apples, and lemon juice.
Taste follows tons of must, sour apples, compressed grapes, lemon rind, and cranberries.
Mouthfeel pretty lite, very carbonated, not really dry, and the drinkability if you are into sours is probably good.
Overall not my bag, but I can see how some really enjoy the style.
