12oz bottle poured into Spiegelau IPA glass. Pours a clear reddish copper color with two fingers of off-white head. Sweet boozy scent. Very little bitterness (just a bit at the end of the sip). Sweet taste has elements that resemble raisin and caramel. Fruity accents as well. I found it a bit one-dimensional with not enough hippiness. (7.5)

LOOK: Hazed, deep orange appearance with white soapy head. Some lace is left behind on the glass, not too bad looking.
SMELL: Citrusy hops are there right upfront with grapefruit notes
TASTE: Grapefruit, mango, fruity ale yeast, brown sugar. Good hop flavors with a fruity ale base. Orange and brown sugar and a bit of tea.
FEEL: Low carbonation, seems to be the calling card of a Free Will product. A bit of a sweet finish but that is understandable giving the strength and propensity of ,malts. Hopefully they could get that under control, the beer barely carbonates and that is a major issue.
OVERALL: Had potential, but no body whatsoever. The flavors were agreeable, which makes it all the more disappointing when the beer falls near lifeless on the palate. I see this has been retired so perhaps they have reformulated a double IPA recipe. I hope so because the flavor on this and many other beers is pretty decent. For the price, it was a bit of a drop in the bucket.
