Poured into a pint glass. Hazy amber color. Maintained a quarter inch head throughout with very little lacing.

The coolest thing about this beer, is that if you look closely, you see the carbonation bubbles just hang out. Focus on one, then all of a sudden it rockets to the top. And it just keeps happening.

Taste was average. Fine but nothing I'd seek out again.

Pours very dark. Very resonus, piney all the things you look for in a DIPA. Really solid double / imperial IPA. I cant think of anything i dont like about this beer. Currently waiting for them to provide this on-tap at local bars. hope they keep making it and it is available at my local bar.

- Consumed in a speigelau ipa glass.

A: Dense ice-tea coloring with a thin, skim walnut toned head that quickly gave way to a whispy surface. Small rise of carbonation within of micro-effervesce rising at a moderate pace.

S: Aroma of scotchy caramel, more alcohol then hops, with a fade of earthy soil and pine.

T: Boozy scotchy caramel for flavor, peat and pine with a fade of boozy bitterness. Again as with the nose, more alcohol dominated, bitterness is more earthy as in line with a english ipa, but with much more boozy content and scotch ale influence. Some warming of pine on the hold.

M: Mouthful was thick and viscose malt, warming piney alcohol, light carbonation with a heavy feel and syrupy content.

O: Overall while the flavor wasn't at all bad, this drank more like a boozy scotch ale with a touch more hoppiness then a ipa. Maybe an english style-scotch ale mixture. Some booziness factors in, creamy malt based, hops were more subtle, soft then forefront. Not one i would drink on a rotating basis or bother to recommend.

A- dark caramel look to it that is somewhat hard to see through. Had is less than half finger but the lacing is like a base molding. very succinct and intact.

S- sweet toasted caramel malts. molasses and dark candied fruit.

F- dark candied grapefruit. like grapefruit dipped in molasses. Sweet caramel malts with a toasted flavor of toffee almost.

M- chewy and fairly thick. the alcohol definitely lingers on the palate longer than I would like. Warmth all the way down the gullet.

O- not a bad brew. Different and just above average. would have another but wont buy a six of it.
