Poured into a pint glass.

A: Light yellow. Carbonates heavily upon pour into a small head, dissipates quickly, and leaves a few small bubbles atop. No attempt to hang on to the side of the glass, no lacing to speak of.

S: Fresh wheat, hops, and subtle citrus hints.

T: Dull hoppy-ness, strong wheat flavor.

M: Light on the initial drink. Sharp, pointed, tangy aftertaste.

D: Goes down fairly easy. Does have something of a bite that slows down the process a bit, and makes it a little unpleasant to drink quickly or in big gulps. . . not that you'd necessarily want to do that any beer.

It's sharpness and flavor are distinct for a lager. Goes down pretty easy. Overall, a serviceable quaff, and worth the drink for (in my opinion) its distinctiveness.

Had it at Tony Cheng's in Chinatown, DC. Poured a starw golden colour with no head, no lacing in a collins glass (yes, collins !!). Smell was nice and floral - yes, hops have been used, albeit sparingly. Taste was sweety and malty with a bitter finish. Overall, it left a vanilla essence flavour in your mouth. Thin on the palate, but a decent beer to have with oriental cuisine.

Appearance: Almost no head, less than half a finger thick, gone very quick. Light yellow color.

Smell: Fruity, banana ester, with a little yeast. There may be a little hops in there as well.

Taste: Kind of a let-down after the smell. Not much flavor, and not exciting what there is. A better than average mass market lager, nothing objectionable.

Mouthfeel: Slight sweetness in the finish. Lighter than average body, but mouthfeel is not bad.

Drinkability: Not a problem drinking one of these, but not entirely satisfying either. A good example of an adjunct lager, but then why not use all malt? Just an opinion on styles, not knocking this beer (necessarily).

355ml can poured into a Tom Collins glass (best choice I had on hand). This is a Chinese beer, fresh in Beijing, not an American (or other) import.

A = Light yellow clear liquid, forms a medium white head with medium retention, no lacing.

S = The nose of this beer has some character. I detect a strong yeast scent along with overripe bananas and fresh chopped grains.

T = A light grain taste with mild bitterness and some hay straw notes coming in at mid-palate, a very long, dry finish. Pretty enjoyable for a beer of this style.

M = Light to medium-light body, good mouthcoating, good carbonation feel.

D = A refreshing, light, interesting lager. Worth a drink.

I went to china and of course I had to taste the beer! This is the most common beer in china.
I had a journey on rail from bejing to the vietnamease border and this was the only beer I came across. In china beer is called horses piss..now I know why.

My wife picked up a couple of bottles of this when bringing home chinese food. As much as I can say is that I prefer it over some mexican lagers but was not crazy about it. Very light color, almost no aroma. Good carbonation, refreshing and dry but not so much as I'd have it again.

I got this beer in a Chinese restaurant, but drank it at home to be give it a honest rating.

Smell: slight malt, floral, medium hoppy
Taste: bitter, dry, slight malt backbone, but most of all very dry.
No aftertaste at all.
This should be a very nice beer to accompany a good Chinese diner. Not very special but it serves it’s purpose.

Pale watery golden color. Decent head. The smell is grainy.

The taste was nicer than what I expected, and a bit more interesting than the normal tsingtao. Crispy, grainy, with a nice and refreshing lemon aspect. The hoppy finish is light and enjoyable. Leaves a very clean mouthfeel. It's a basic lager, not one of the greatest beers I've had, not very complex, but still very drinkable.

12-ounce bottle poured into a weizen glass yields a brilliantly-clear hay-straw body crowned with four fingers of fine-bubbled white foam that settles to a thick sheet and leaves a little scattered lacing.

Smell is toasted malty, and not too much of it. A hint of cooked veggies. Hmm.

Taste is a little sweet with a little malt and a touch of earthy hops... and a little note of cooked vegetables. Nothing in excess... nothing good, nothing really bad... just a whole lot of nothing.

Thin-bodied and watery, but really great for washing down a juicy grilled bratwurst with yellow mustard, or hell, even Chinese food ;)

A light, slightly skunky beer, that is crisp and light bodied.

Taste rating in words: It's snap of a twig as you step on it, on a silent, in the middle of no where.

My review may seem a bit harsh but this is really the only decent domestic beer I have found in China (with the exception of the Chinese dark beer styles which are only decent in that they are a break from all the other macro-brew light lager swill). Another plus is that it goes great with the cuisine in almost any part of China.

Appearance – pours a decent amberish-yellow (more yellow than amber). A quick pour produce moderate head that disappears quickly.
Smell – grass, water, slighty skunked
Taste – Carbonation, water, very mild bitter hops, water
Drinkability – at about $.50 US for a 600ml keep them coming at pace with the lamb kebobs.
