I am challenged to remember a milk stout, no barrel aged, that packs in more flavor than this one. Chocolate, vanilla, and coffee make a winning trifecta, though admittedly not too much depth behind it. Super creamy and cooly smooth. Smell is clone of taste.

Batch# 225-226

Appearance: Somewhat of a foamer and, as is often the case with such beers, the initial head is impressive but as the carbonation dies down, subsequent pours are not; so, the fudge brown liquid winds up without much of a head though there are some splashes of lacing

Smell: Sugary coffee tones, with prominent lactose, vanilla and chocolate fudge; some piney undertones

Taste: The sweetness takes over, from the outset, along with fruity coffee tones and an underpinning of vanilla and fudge; some acrid pine tones build, after the swallow, and offset the sweetness of the malt bill

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation (after the initial froth died down)

Overall: There are a number of countervailing elements in this beer and, ultimately, they clash rather than complement one another

Poured into a Pipeworks NvU snifter. Seems lighter colored than a lot of stouts, with thinning edges and lacing that didn't quite go away. Scents of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee are very prevalent, and all blend together nicely on the taste. A sweet beer throughout, but it's not overpowering, and there's a slight alcohol burn underneath. Delivers exactly what is advertised, and yet another damn fine beer from PDub.

A dark dark looking stout with no head but mocha pencil thin crown of lace. The cocoa and fresh coffee aroma waft from the glass but definitely leaning more on the chocolaty side. A deep rich, thick, and gooey smell. A chocolate fiasco on the taste buds, chocolate syrup like, with a twinge of the coffee, and a fantastic vanilla note to finish it off. Great feel with a smooth, slick body but nice carbonation. A near perfect beer for me. By far the best milk stout I've tried. This beer does not disappoint and is definitely worth seeking!!

Pours dark brown, inky black with a thin layer of mocha tinged tan foam, that dissipated quickly. Just a thin ring around the edges of the glass, not much head or lace in the glass.

Nice rich coffee and chocolate aromas. Reminds me of Founders KBS/FBS.

Coffee dominates the taste, a little bit of roasty bitterness and a shade of alcohol heat. Chocolatey aftertaste, rich and slightly sweet up front but finishes nicely bitter yet smooth. Light to medium bodied, substantial and creamy. The vanilla is subtle, but it's a nice combo overall.

Poured out a pitch-black color with a small, brown head of foam. It smelled of vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Nice roasty flavor with strong vanilla notes. A touch of dark chocolate.
