Appearance: Pours with a light to medium body. Some dark brown color is picked up but sit pitch black in the glass. Zero carbonation. Very slight head on the pour.

Smell: The front is the vanilla beans and cacao nibs. A milk chocolate presence is prevalent instead of a more traditional dark chocolate. Medium bodied roasted coffee lingers on the back end. Milky smoothness rides out this brew.

Taste: Huge front of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. Its really sweet but kept in check with the heavy coffee accents. Those coffee accents ride through to the body and take on a more roasted malt feeling. The milky accents pick up on the finish and leave the palate with a creamy feeling.

Mouthfeel: Outstandingly drinkable, no alcohol burn, a top notch stout for easy drinking. Palate is challenged with so many flavor but melts together well.

Overall: Pipeworks really loves making milk stouts. This one is the best one I have had from them so far. Tons of complexity from all the accents they listed. So good.

Batch 225-226

Pours jet black and sold in color with a thin half finger head that has good retention. consistency looks thick like molasses.

Smell is great. Loads of fresh coffee aromas and along with a huge creamy chocolate richness from the cacao and vanilla. Malt compliments the richness of cacao coffee and vanilla nicely.

Taste is awesome. Follows the nose with huge rich creamy chocolate and coffee. Dessert in a glass, mild to moderate sweetness along with the creamy feel from the lactose sugar and vanilla balances nicely with the bitterness from the roasted malt, coffee and cacao.

Mouthfeel is great. Huge body from the lactose sugar and stick sweet feel. Small bubble Carbonation is mild help give the beer a velvety feel keeping it highly drinkable.

Overall this is an awesome milk stout. Possibly my favorite of the dog series.

Batch #s 225-226

a: none more black. very small tan head that recedes to an even smaller head and only around the glass at that

s: dark chocolate and coffee primarily.

t: Coffee and then some coffee followed by some coffee. No but seriously coffee dominates here. It's good coffee flavor, not charred starbux™. But as it warms the coffee dominance recedes ever so slightly to waves of chocolate which surround a dinghy of vanilla. One can catch an occasional glimpse of the dinghy from shore but eventually the chocolate ocean envelopes it to nothingness.

m: Creamy and smooth. Carbonation is spot on. Body is suitable.

o: Highly drinkable for the abv. Definite recommendation for coffee flavored stout fans. The best of the dog/jones dog milk stout series thus far imo. Well done Pipeworks.

A: Pitch black. Dark tan head that dissipates somewhat quickly.

S: Coffee and chocolate. Basically a mocha.

T: Coffee and more coffee. Bittersweet chocolate and some sweetness to finish up. Vanilla was harder to find. No taste from the alcohol. Very drinkable beer, and deceptively so.

M: Perfectly smooth and creamy. Not overly thick, but enough body to remind you it's a stout.

O: Coffee. This is pretty much coffee with hidden alcohol. I love it, and if you like coffee stouts, this is right up your alley.

Serving type, Pipeworks snifter

A: All beer is beautiful, this one is pitch black with almost no head.

S: Mostly coffee, with some chocolate sneaking in there.

T: At first, it was all coffee. So much coffee I thought I should reach for some creamer. As it warmed up, I tasted some dark fruit flavors; black currants, raisins, plums. Moderately sweet, but not cloying. The extra dose of coffee might be a hit with those who thought the Hyper Dog was too sweet. Don't feel like I taste as much vanilla as I did with the original, might be because the coffee overpowers the vanilla, or maybe there's just less of it. No sign of this being north of 10% either.

M: Not as thick as I expected. I was expecting this to pour like Ten-Fidy (motor oi) but this pours more like actual coffee. Makes this beer dangerously drinkable. Slight bite from the carbonation on your tongue, and a lingering warmth from the alochol on the back of the throat.

O: Great brew, might need some more vanilla to balance the coffee and really make this a show stopper. For a coffee lover, this is an absolute must try. I'd avoid it if you don't like coffee.
