Notes / Commercial Description:
This Imperial Porter is brewed in memory of our neighbor and label artist's best four-legged friend, Thor. Pours really thick and black in color with a thin tan head that dissipates to a film over the top.

Smell is pretty good. There are big chocolate malt that is forward along with a fair amount of charcoal roasted aroma. There is a lighter creamy aroma and dark fruit aroma.

Taste is pretty good and follows the nose. Lots of chocolate malt is forward along with a moderate charcoal bitterness. There is a slight creamy flavor that've detectable through the chalky charcoal bitterness.

Mouthfeel is huge. Really big body and thick feel. Huge malty stickiness is balanced with big amounts of charred bitterness. A sipping beer for sure.

A- Jet black with a slight brown tint to it with almost no head.

S- It is very sweet with a nice roast to it.

T/M- You get a lot of chocolate malt with some nice bitter cocoa. Then a nice sweet and roast finish that sticks with you for a while. It has very little carbonation which i was pretty surprised by.

O- It is a great beer with a nice chocolate flavors. I would like to see a little more carbonation but the big flavors make up for it.

After tasting the collection of revolution porters, I found this to be outstanding in comparison.

My first foray into the world of Pipeworks and I had high expectations. Poured out of 22oz bomber into my favorite tulip. Great black color with slight reddish hue when help up to light. Nice aroma of chocolate, hops and coffee. I was anticipating a bigger, creamier mouthfeel but instead Thor has a medium body. Very enjoyable, full flavor with nice hop bite. Definite sipper...flavor profile deepens and improves as beer sits in glass. I savored my 11oz portion for a good 30-40 minutes. Looking forward to trying more from Pipeworks. Salute.
