The unsuspecting unicorn was decorating eggs, when out of NO HARE, he heard "Your ass is artificial grass!". Before The Unicorn could get a peep, the Easter Bunny, in a ball of furry, attacked with kung (bunny fu) foo carrot-y chops. The Unicorn whipped the hare back and forth, fighting Bunny's intense hop kick with a wheat wine. Don't worry. The Easter Bunny was charged with Energizer battery. The Unicorn will live to dye another day!

All puns aside, we've changed up the recipe on this batch of Easter Bunny vs Unicorn. It's fuller in body, with more wheat. We've also added Hallerteau Blanc hops to the dry hop. It's delicious!

Bottled spring 2014; drank 5/30/14 @ the Yarchives.

Murky orange rust.

Cream-colored head; a curtain of lace.

Honeyed grain, strawberry & slight booze nose.

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.

A sweet-but-not-cloying mix of honeyed grain, cognac, strawberry candy & grapefruit tartness; a sugar sweetness settles on the lips.

A bit hot on the finish, but this bold, unique & tasty.

22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 3/8/17, had 4/27/17.

Pours a caramel color with an orange tint, mostly clear, with a one and a half inch head of tight foam and a good amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, caramel, figs, brown sugar, toffee, some yeast, some bread, light white grapes. Some pine kind of floats in and out. Smells a bit sweet. The taste is malt, pine that hits up front and then fades, caramel, bread, figs, dates, some brown sugar, lightly sweet overall, some lingering hop bitterness. Smooth, creamy for the style, carbonated a little on the higher side, a good body.

Great flavor, very good aroma, and the Hallertau hops really add to both. Leans a little towards being a barleywine. Very enjoyable, worth a purchase.

Aroma is caramel, wheat and some creeping fruit. The flavor is caramel, wheat/malts, mild fruit and a mix of medium sweetness and alcohol in the finish.

While not mind blowing, an excellent representation of the style and overall an enjoyable wheatwine. The flavor is there in balance, and not overly boozy considering the double digit abv

Medium toned brown with a creamy tan head. Sweeter nose with brown sugar and toffee leading, wheat, slight apple, and dark fruit right behind with plenty of maltwork. Taste adds some booze and earth to balance well. Feel is medium bodied, so smooth, yet has decent warmth. Great intro to the style that is very well rounded

Like so many other of Pipeworks dry-hopped-up, but still sweet and malty reddish beers. Don't be afraid to pour vigorously, as the aromatics are really appealing. More tropical fruit, papaya and passion fruit on this one. Bursting with flavor, and with their characteristic, almost-chalky full mouthfeel. Quite different from most wheatwines thanks to the hop character, but probably better off for standing out in that way.

this is a style that i still really havent found one i have loved, but this is about as close as any have come for me. it has a few cool points of distinction. one, is that under its lacy white head there is an awesome aroma and flavor of toasted marshmallows, perfectly golden brown and oozy, reminds me of being a kid, reminds me of summer, i really like it. it must come from a long boil and a partial caramelization of sugars from the wheat malt, a nice and unique feature. the other thing i like about this is how hoppy it is, it sorts of flirts with that big ipa mouthfeel, oily and sticky, but also packs enough bitterness to balance all the residual sugar in here. it makes it somewhat more american in style, and somewhat more interesting than the sugar water beverages these often are. its smooth in feel, hides its alcohol nicely, and represents yet another well executed and interesting beer from pipeworks. a small pour is plenty for me, this creeps up on you quick, but i liked it well enough for a style that usually doesnt turn me on very much. so glad to have these guys here in the market now!

22 oz. Bomber

Poured into a chalice a slightly hazy dark golden orangey/brownish color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice one-finger thick/creamy off-white head, which leaves a medium size island, and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with a nice hop note, kinda citrusy, kinda wheaty. The taste is very nice malty, hoppy, with some citrus/wheat notes, there's a nice sweetness to this brew. Full body, ABV hidden pretty well, nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew, surprised me.
