There once was a weirdo named Kate
Who thought thai cuisine was great
She has a hunch the flavors would fit
In a refreshing wit.
Brewed with lemongrass, basil and kaffir lime,
Fermented for a time
And Goosh! A wit as weird as Kate!

22 oz. bottle, with Batch #390-391 printed on the label. Yet another new wit beer creation from the masters at Pipeworks; expectations are excellent based on this knowledge.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a nice golden straw yellow colored body. Some decent clarity and some bubbles lazily floating topside. Two fingers of creamy fluffy white head that leaves behind spotty lacing. Looks very nice.

S - The smell is very nice, and definitely has that Pipeworks vibe to it. A delicious creamy fruity banana sort of aroma. Citrusy and grassy / wheaty / grainy, but I would never guess that this had basil or lime leaves in it just from the aroma.

T - Taste follows the nose - deliciously creamy, fruity, yeasty, and lightly citric. Herbal, grassy, and wheaty, but again I would never know this had basil or lime leaves in it without being told.

M - The feel is smooth, creamy, and delicious. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Creamy, herbal, and dry & grassy on the finish.

Overall, another excellent beer from Pipeworks. Not exactly a traditional wit style beer, but it is a nice take on the style. Highly recommended if it is available to you.

Pours a hazy, gold color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of hops, resin, wheat, pale malt, sweet malt, hint of pine, and a hint of floral. Fits the style of a Witbier. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, alcohol, hops, hint of pine, pale malt, and a hint of floral. Overall, good appearance, aroma, feel, and blend. The body is slightly unusual for a Wit., lacking any citrus.
