22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Batch 299-300.

A- Pours on the lighter side for an RIS, a dark reddish brown color with a small amount of khaki colored head.

S- I really don't smell much aside from the bourbon on the nose, maybe some dark fruit aromas but that's it.

T- Very interesting, as it drinks lighter than your average RIS but definitely packs a punch still. Dark fruits with notes of vanilla. Aside from that, lots of bourbon on the taste.

M- Medium bodied, low carbonation, drinks very hot.

This is a great beer, would probably benefit from a few months to let the bourbon settle down and the other flavors shine through though.

A darker shade of brown in color, but the beer is far more translucent than any other RIS, giving this beer an oddly clear(ish) appearance. Forms a very small surface coating-like head that fades quickly leaving a flat appearing brown liquid. No lacing. Aroma is quite pleasant: creamy smooth, vanilla frosting, bourbon, oak, and sweet caramel. Smells like banana foster in a glass. The taste is equally as pleasant. Starts off with a moderate sweetness. Caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and bread pudding. Damn this tastes like dessert in a glass. Smooth mouthfeel, but very thin.
Overall, quite good. Far better than the base beer, though I can say this one resembles a white russian even less than the original (which isn't a bad thing).

Big barrel/vanilla nose after 6 months down in the basement. Very creamy if just a bit thin. Spirit, toffee & vanilla up front, sweet on the finish as well. Double digit ABV was hidden pretty well considering. Solid offering.
