-A Belgian Quad brewed with pinot noir grape juice, demerara sugar, and hallertau blanc hops-

In a life after humans, the elegant inhabitants of the sky-scraping jungles move as solitary hunters in the quiet night. THey are individuals within a pack. This Belgian style quad is enough to make you meow at the moon.
We are thrilled with how this beer turned out! Hope you enjoy it. Label art by Peter Wano features all 4 brew kittens.

16oz can, date stamped 01/24/20. Fizzy brown body with some ruby hues when held to light; thin tan head. Aroma is sweet dark candi sugar, brown sugar, grain, caramel, toffee, raisin, and spicy Belgian yeast. Rich & sweet flavors; very complex with notes of dark fruit (raisin, cherry), caramely dark candi sugar, bready & spicy Belgian yeast, and mild earthy hops; pinot noir comes through especially when it warms. Full body, sticky-sweet, moderate carbonation, alcohol is warming, sweet finish. This one impressed me - very well done!

It is a reddish brown color with little head, but some nice tan colored lacing on top.

Little light on the smell, reminds me of grape juice and wine.

Fruity up front, mainly of grape juice. Also get some dried fruit, like raisins or dates. Finishes with both lingering flavors of Belgian candy sugar and a mild hop bitterness.

Feel pretty solid, has a bit of tongue coating going on.

Definitely an interesting take on the style. It is a pretty good beer, what keeps it from being great is it is a bit too heavy on the fruit. There is still a Belgian character to it, so if you want to try a new take on a classic style, worth checking out.

Not bad effort from my favorite brewery at the style. It’s got plenty of dark sugar/molasses/sweet dark fruit on the nose and taste. Medium bodied, just a hint of syrupy thickness. Plenty of booziness. I’m not sure why, but it feels like it’s missing just a little something that would make it an excellent beer instead of just pretty good.

I love you pipeworks, but I'm sorry, if you are going to call this a quad, I am going to call this is an abomination. Tastes like prune and grape juice with caramel malts. Smell has the belgian yeast more, but again dark fruit heavy. Feel is thin like juice, no breadiness, no slight booze, sweet, too high carbonation. Very disappointed. At least the appearance is good, shades of dark brown with a creamy mushroom head.

Given that I first had a Pipeworks in 2014 and we live in the same town and this is only my 5th from them, it is fair to say that I have avoided them. There are two reasons: they are famous among hop-heads (and I am not so); and, Pipeworks is over-priced. But if they could produce a Belgian line as good as this Quad, I would pay the price.

This Quad's Looks offer a pleasant burgundy tone, but could use some protein swirls. Also a limitation that only a good yeast can rectify, Smells are more sweet than the dried dark fruit medleys produced by the masters. As for Tastes, Pipeworks nailed this quad. A very surprisingly delicate balance created by the demera sugar and the hops and whatever other herbs they used. In my mouth, this Quad is full, rich and the alcohol well-concealed.

I give decent OA Hugs to Pipeworks for being different and getting away with it for 8 years.
