Duuuuuuude. Wait what was I saying? Oh that's right. Doritos, like what if they grew on trees? Dud, if a Dorito tree fell in a forest, and no one heard it, I'd like eat the whole thing. Ever get insulted by what Netflix like suggests you would like? I don't want to watch Roseanne. Again.

Bomber bottle, I could find no bottling/freshness dating

Pours a nice dull shade of ruby/amber, medium haze, lasting khaki cap, leaves a coating film, ringed low sheeting and plenty of strands and bits of lacing.

Lime/citric infused nose, bright and pungent

Fruity, on the sweeter side of DIPA, citric with lime n grapefruit again shining through. Enough gritty hops to balance things out...densely flavor, brightly hopped, very solid DIPA. Nice night capper

Pipeworks Brewing Crimson Snapper
Bottled: June 5, 2015

I am really excited to try this beer from Pipeworks, they brew some fantastic IPAs. This double IPA is brewed with honey, blood orange juice, and citra hops.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. As you can tell from the picture below, this beer is a beautiful reddish orange color with a nice off-white head with solid lacing and retention around the glass. The aroma is fantastic with a ton of citrus from the blood orange juice and citra hops. Also, the nose features a nice hint of sweetness from the honey. The first thought upon sipping this beer is "Wow!". Upfront you get a lot of sweetness from the malt and honey. This makes way for a nice bitter citrusy finish with a lingering bitterness and sweetness. The mouthfeel is damn near perfect for the style. Overall, Crimson Snapper is a fantastic IPA that I thoroughly enjoyed in every aspect. Cheers!

This has become my favorite DIPA of all time. It has everything in my opinion. The fruitiness is there from the Blood Orange and the Citra Hops, sweetness from honey is there, and yet the hops is not masked. I had to stock up on these but no matter how many I acquire will not be nearly enough.

Maybe I'm just not into IPAs with fruit juice added? I didn't really like grapefruit sculpin either. Nice juicy taste, but I don't get that amazing hop smell that really makes an IPA for me.

A great balance of fruit and hops - the OJ is a delicious addition to this "fish series" DIPA. Probably up there with Spotter Puffer as one of my favorite Pipeworks.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a gandhi bot tulip
A- pours dark golden yellow/orange with a 1 finger head that dissipates quickly leaving a ring around the glass and some on top
S- fruitiness, pineapple, blood orange, grapefruit
T- smooth initially with a metallic/hop bitterness to the finish. Fruit notes forward then I get the honey coming through on the far end of the finish. A lingering bitterness from the hops is a little unpleasant.
M- smooth at first but finishes sharply/unbalanced. A long sticky lingering presence of the honey and alpha acids from the hops.
O- a great beer upfront. The nose is really good, but the finish is long and not necessarily as balanced. Not sure why pipeworks has to bring all of their DIPAs to 9.5%, out of personal preference I think it would be better at a slightly lower abv to be more balanced.
