Imperial IPA with passion fruit, honey, and Citra hops.
The first fresh fishie is finally in cans! Same recipe, but now in a new format - we're so stoked that Spotted Puffer is back with a fresh look! This beer is brewed with tart and tropical passion fruit puree, balanced with wild flower honey, and packed with aroma from late addition Citra hops. It's a tasty and smooth beer.

Bottled summer 2015 ("batch 744-745"); drank 6/27/15 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque pale orange appearance.
HUGE fluffy white head; a frothy curtain of lace.
Guava & faint honey notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Guava & honey flavors up front; grapefruit bite on the finish. No booze heat.
A tasty, nicely balanced DIPA.

Nice imperial IPA from brewery that’s new to me. Tasty and refreshing, easy to drink and crisp - just a little disappointing considering the other amazing reviews here. Looks good, honeyed yellow-orange color with a little white head and very scant lingering lacing. Smells of ripe mango, passionfruit, pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and tangerine. Also some weaker malt, vanilla, bread and herbal hops. Tastes similarly, good clean slightly juicy feel but again I was a little let down by the lack of intensity, complexity and depth. The higher ABV was very well hidden. Didn’t really detect much honey. Slightly sticky, mild, smooth mouthfeel and good carbonation. An enjoyable beer, just not one of my top imperial IPAs.

16oz can, date stamped 07/19/2019. Deep copper-amber colored DIPA with a foamy beige head that leaves some sticky lacing on the glass. Bold tropical passion fruit aroma with caramel, honey, pine, and mango. Insanely juicy and tropical with bold & tart passion fruit leading the dominance on the palate; guava, mango, melon, sweet honey, and caramel, meld in well. Full body, ample carbonation, more sweet than bitter on the finish, alcohol burns the throat a bit, which aids in taking the sweetness away. Overall, this didn't meet expectations. It has some great flavors but seems to be too sweet at times and too harsh at times - I think it's the passion fruit. It was still good, but a bit of a disappointment given the price and it's high BA score.
