Notes: IIPA brewed with Raspberries and Honey

Duuuuuuuude... This beer reminds me. Once, I looked at a fish tank. At this medical place I go to? And there were these like beta fish just like fighting. And I thought, uh, that's a metaphore. Life for life. Oh. Yeah. I did shave my eyebrows. I think they're going to like just know when to stop growing. Like how do they know???? They just like stop growing when they're eyebrow length. My mind is blllllown.

Was a bit apprehensive to try an IIPA with raspberries but I love pdub and had to give it a try. Its no crimson snapper IMO but another solid IIPA. The raspberry is very prominent in the aroma but not overpowering with some mild dankness. Raspberry also noticeable in the taste and finishes with an medium astringent bitterness and oily pine resin aftertaste to me. Its not overly sweet for having been brewed with honey but I do pick up very slight honey notes.

Hazy straw color, suspended matter. A bit, fruity, a bit spicy, raspberry. Smells better than the taste, I like what they are trying here but it just doesn't come through for me. Worth trying though

L: Very hazy amber/deep orange color, juicy, quarter finger white head, nice thin lacing, no visible carbonation.

S: Tropical fruits, hops. Smells wonderful.

T: Tropical fruits, blood orange, citrusy, slightly malty. Soooo good.

F: Medium bodied, full flavored and smooth.

O: A brilliant DIPA.

Citra hops overpowers the raspberry and honey. Not a bad tasting beer, but not unique or special.

Pours a reddish almost rose color with a pillowy white head. Head dissipates rather quickly leaving lots of sticky white lacing and some residual spotty foam on the top of the beer.

Smell has some notes of citrusy hops, honey, and a hint, ever so fleeting, of raspberry.

Taste follows the nose with some citrusy hops and nice sweet honey note and a solid malt backbone. The raspberry is far too subtle. You catch hints at different points, but I wanted so much more. There is no tartness, and almost no raspberry. Without the raspberry its just a generic sweet DIPA with honey.

Feel is very nice for the style. Medium carbonation. Light, smooth, and super drinkable for a DIPA.

Overall its a solid beer. Disappointed by the lack of raspberries in this - I was hoping for a more tart flavor from the beer, but its just lacking almost any raspberry aroma or flavor.

Look: Reddish Brown with a nice foam that lingers. (7/10)
Smell: Rasperries are first, followed by honey, malt, hops. (8/10)
Taste: Citrus, raspberry, banana, crisp, bright, really refreshing. (8/10)
Feel: Flavor lingers, but theres a harsh aftertaste on the palate. (7/10)
Overall: This is another great Pipeworks concoction. Wish I drank this fresher, but even after it was a few months old, it was delicious and refreshing. This is a raspberry beer. Get over it. It will creep up on you, but the taste opens up nicely. Would recommend this for sure. (7/10)
