Pours a deep dark brown, nearing black with a very thin layer of dark brown creamy foam.

Huge aroma vanilla up front and center, followed by heavy dark chocolate and light roastiness.

While prominent in aroma, the vanilla character falls slightly to the wayside while lightly bitter dark chocolate overpowers the sweet vanilla and cream notes. Subtle roasty character to note as well.

Heavy-bodied, low-medium carbonation, sweet, sticky, slightly chewy.

Overall, while heavy vanilla comes through in the aroma, much of the vanilla character is lost in its flavor. Very good, but I feel a little fine tuning on flavor and body can do this beer some good.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter.

Pours dark and opaque, small head of dark tan foam, small foamy ring throughout. Smell brings a fairly strong vanilla, malts, light chocolate, a hint of coffee. taste is a little heavier on the malt, still a strong vanilla presence, chocolate, subtle coffee, a touch of anise, slight bitterness. Very smooth and creamy, good body, well carbonated.

Another solid entry in the Abduction series. The vanilla was prevalent and flavorful, but didn't detract from the base beer. Enjoyable to drink and well worth a purchase.

Medium vanilla smell. Vanilla comes through in flavor too, but doesn't blend great with stout flavors. Still good, just not great. 18th street Hunter Vanilla is a much better example of the style.

Bottled fall 2015; drank 10/31/15 @ the Yarchives.

Black/brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small dark tan head; minimal lace.

Burnt marshmallow, peanut butter & cream notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Peanut butter & vanilla flavors up front; brandy notes on the finish.

Nicely balanced & rich; good.

Had this on 2017-11-10 in Columbia, PA from a 22oz bottle from 2016

A - Opaque dark brown with a 1-finger light brown head and decent lace.

S - Soy sauce, dark roasted grain and light vanilla.

T - Dark roasted grain, earthy spice, definite vanilla sweetness, oak. The vanilla sweetness works well to mitigate the dark roast flavor and bitterness. Alcohol heat and sweetness are also noticeable.

M - Medium-heavy body and light carbonation. Creamy, full and then some alcohol burn in the finish, which I didn't mind.

O - Tastes better than it smells. The umami aroma gave me expectations of this being quite apparent in the flavor, but this wasn't the case. This is an enjoyable sipping brew although not top of the field for Imperial Stouts.

Appearance - The beer was black with a modest tan head crowning the glass.

Smell - The nose iwas boozy and generally lacked vanilla.

Taste - At the front, the front was smooth vanilla which seemed muted. The profile was a little warm and had a weird Diet Vanilla Coke presence. This would not normally be awful, unless one expects their beer to taste like diet soda. Bitter dark chocolate arrive at the back end.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation level of on target for the style and allowed the vanilla taste to linger.

Overall - I feel like there was something off about this one.
