Batch #16. 22 oz. bottle served in a Firestone Walker Proprietors Reserve Series tulip.
A: Pours a deep, deep dark cherry red color with some brown hues mixed in. A thick, light khaki head forms on the pour and sticks around for quite sometime. It recedes very slowly to a thick cap and collar that leaves some sticky sheets of lace behind.
S: Big juicy and piney hops are up front on the first whiff. Big dried biscuit malts with a nice sugar sweetness and berry fruitiness is on the end.
T: Nice fruity flesh and citrus grapefruit bursts are up front, but it gets really down and dirty with some earthy grass and subtle pine. The malt bill comes on strong at the finish with some nice caramel notes, dark spiced bread and a slight toasted bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with a slight bit of oily slickness. The finish is sweet and creamy with a nice medium carbonation level.
O: I'm sort of a amber/red ale fan boy and this one really hit it out of the park. Great creamy sweetness from the malts with a nice balance of fruity and piney hops. I hope this isn't a one off and sees some semi regular production like NvU.

Deep amber, almost cherry red color with a decent foamy off white head that lasts and produces some nice lacing.
The aroma is light roasted malt, caramel, pumpernickel and pine.
The taste is pumpernickel and malt up front, some hints of raisins. hazelnuts and plums, some vague citrus notes ending up with some earthy and piney notes.
The body is medium, moderate carbonation, very smooth and nicely drinkable.
Altogether, this is another level compared to most red ales, with extra complexity and flavor from nicely balanced hops, outstanding.

A red ale that isn't trying too hard to impress you. Really well balanced and while you get hops initially it finishes with malts. Delish and refreshing. Isn't too heavy either.

Hazy brown with 2 fingers of beige head.
Smells of red liquorice, oranges, hard water and toasted malts.
Taste follows the nose but has a surprising sour note and a hint of rust at the end.
Medium crisp body with moderate carbonation.
Got this at Beer Hub Waynesville and drinking it at Dear Cabins, Aug 9, 2023.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber almost ruby color with a small head of off white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a pine and earthy hop smell mixed with other aromas of roasted malt and brown bread. Along with these aromas comes notes of honey and caramel as well as some cherry and plum.
Taste – The taste begins with a brown bread and quite malt forward flavor mixed with some of the pine and the earthiness that were in the nose. AT the same time there are flavors of molasses and brown sugar as well as some light noes of plum and raisin. As the taste advances the pine grows stronger with the roastiness does so as well. Notes of a orange and grapefruit join on more toward the end of the taste and with a bit of nut and cherry, one is left with a moderately hoppy, sweet, semi dark, and decently malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a lower carbonation level. For the mix of resinous and dank hop with the thicker malt, the feel is rather well done with it accentuating the flavors nicely.
Overall – A good hopped up amber ale. Big on flavor at a middle of the roast and abv.

Very good Amber Ale!! Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful clear amber color and then the big frothy off-white head. Head retention was excellent and there was thick foamy lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste were impressive also. Bready and caramel malt somewhat balanced by moderately bitter piney hops. Mouthfeel was rich enough and dry and crisp. the piney presence was not resinous, just a clean "feel". Very enjoyable!!!

Amber colored with a cloudy complexion. There’s a fingernail of khaki brown around the rim and covering two thirds of the top. The aroma is of piney hops and light biscuity malt. I’m tasting piney hops and biscuity malt. The mouth is refreshing and smooth.
