A storm is brewing and with it comes a wicked carnival of hops. The dark carnie leader’s skin is emlazoned with many a vine, including Columbus, Cascade, and Sorachi Ace. So whether you’re a Halloway or a Nightshade, you had better run, for with this carnival, Something Hoppy This Way Comes.

L: gold with a light haze under a lacy 2" off white blanket of foam with good retention
S: citrus, melon, tropical fruit, light herbal, floral, faint green vegetation, caramel, mild alcohol, and medium low biscuit aromas
T: mildly sweet featuring citrus, tangerine, melon, and alcohol leading to a bitter citrus peel and rind finish
F: surprisingly light for a beer this big and it is lusciously creamy
O: I particularly like the development of citrus flavors in this beer.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 3/29/17, had 4/26/17.
Pours a yellow/orange, hazy, with a one inch foamy head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Smells of orange, grapefruit, tangerine, yeast, resin, some lime. The taste starts with more pine than the nose, then orange, grapefruit, tangerine, lime, malt. Some hop bitterness throughout, more on the finish. Smooth, a solid medium body, well carbonated.
A really good hop blend, a good malt/hop balance. The one negative is that the Sorachi hops were kind of MIA. Still, very enjoyable and worth a try.
