Found this bottle tucked away. Poured to Duvel tulip, darker golden with frothy thinner head that does not stick around. Smelling some age on the malt and some hops notes. Taste is rather good, saison yeast/esters is front and hops bring floral and fruity elements. Medium body and above average carbonation.

750 ml bottle, with Batch #438/439 printed on the label. A new saison style beer to me from Pipeworks. Expectations are high based on this knowledge.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a nice golden / burnt sienna orange colored body with three fingers of bubbly off-white head. Good head retention with some thick fluffy lacing. Adequate carbonation streaming up from the etching at the bottom of the glass. Looks very nice.

S - The smell of citrus hops hits me as soon as the beer was uncapped. Citrusy, floral, and lightly peppery. Smells very fresh and delicious.

T - The taste is comprised of bready pilsner malt, juicy citrus / floral hops - grapefruit, lemon, oranges, & spicy / earthy / peppery yeast presence.

M - The feel is smooth & creamy. Medium-light bodied with good active carbonation. Very easy drinking.

Overall, a very delicious, solid & inspired example of a traditional saison from the boys at Pipeworks. These guys have impressed me yet again.
