Notes: Also known as Unicorn Galaxy

Our friends south of the equator really have this hop growing thing figured out and we are ecstatic they do. Without them we couldn't bring you Unicorn Galaxy. We built a platform of malted barley and wheat then atop that we constructed our ode to Galaxy hops. The hop character really shines through with aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, tangerine, citrus, passion fruit and fresh cut grass. Drink early, drink often.

16oz can, date stamped 11/20/19. Thanks to Derek for giving me a can to try! Hazy peach colored body is capped with a foamy ivory colored head. Huge hop aroma of mango, citrus, and pine. Flavors equally huge with more piney mango, orangey citrus, lemon-lime, and passion fruit along with a light caramel malt base with a touch of honey. Full resinous body, ample carbonation, alcohol is warming, assertive bitterness with a lingering piney bitterness. Wow - awesome beer!

L: gold with a light haze under a 2" white cap with good retention.

S: dank smell blending melon, onion, garlic, citrus and topical fruit

T: fruit, melon, citrus and alcohol with a trace of caramel and a hint of onion and ditch-weed

F: exceptionally creamy texture, a medium body and very soft and luscious carbonation

O: The rich creamy texture really makes this beer stand out. As an added bonus it is big, flavorful, bitter and alcoholic.

Nothing special on the look and smell. The taste an feel is amazing. The description is accurate; citrus, fruit, and other stuff, but the galaxy hops power through and make it unique. This is well beyond average.

Pours an effervescent amber with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. Epic head retention & lacing

S: Breadyness, a little pineapple

T: Cakeyness, pineapple, mango up front, along with dryess & pine up front. Grapefruit & dried pineapple mingle with cakey dryness as this warms. Finishes dry with with pineapple, and grapefruit

MF: Chewy, fairly firm carbonation. Carbonation smooths as this warms, lovely balance

Drinks easy for the heft & complexity, well put together DIPA

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Not sure on the bottle date.

Perfect look for an IPA / DIPA. Vibrant yellow orange with less than a finger head that lingers really nicely. Not much carbonation and solid lacing.

Aromas of cantaloupe, citrus zest, pineapple.

Bitter hops, apple, grassy notes, pine, tangerine, creamsicle are the main flavors.

Feel is nice! Drinks like a hoppy milkshake.

Overall a really nice offering. I expected a bit more seeing as I absolutely loved their Ninja vs Unicorn beer. Still well done and glad to have tried it!

Poured into a pint glass. Moderately hazy golden color with a two-finger white head. Nice lacing in the glass. Great Galaxy aromas with big pineapple and tropical fruit. Some dank resin as well. Very bitter on the first sip with the tropical notes as expected. A good mix of resin and bready malt. Old school DIPA clean bitterness. Medium bodied. This was a bit more boozy and hot on the finish than I expected.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 1/17/17, had 1/30/17.

Pours a bright, hazy yellow, with a small head and some loose, soapy lacing. The smell is mostly citrus hops, bursting with orange, mango, tangerine, pineapple, some lime. A little floral and dank, also some yeast. The taste is also strong with citrus- tangerine, orange, mango, lime, some lemon and grapefruit. A very nice malt backbone. There's a good amount of dankness on the finish, with a hint of green onion, and a sweet note midway. A mild to medium hop bitterness throughout. Smooth, refreshing, a great medium body, well carbonated.

This one is a real favorite, have had it before. Bursting with bright tropical citrus flavors and aromas, balanced by a solid malt base and some dank and earthy smells and tastes. A great sipper. Well worth a purchase any time it comes around.

S - Aroma is primarily grapefruit.
T - Flavor is softer, maybe apricot. Only a hint of bitterness.
M - Mouth feel is average and so is carbonation. Very light feeling.
O - Very good but not better than Nina vs Unicorn.

This beer pours golden and cloudy with a good head and lacing. The head dissipates quickly. The smell of the beer is hoppy and orange. The taste is light orange and full hoppy. The feel is smooth and strong, and it lingers. Great beer!
