Pours black with a one inch tan head that dissipated quickly and left a ring of lacing. Smell is predominately coffee and roasted malts with notes of vanilla and chocolate. Tastes follows the nose with coffee being first and foremost and the additional note of a mild cream sweetness. Full bodied, thick mouth feel, lightly carbonated. ABV well hidden, a very good beer however it is a little heavier on the coffee than most.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that died down, leaving some wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of coffee beans are present in the nose; these become stronger as the beer warms up.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of cold brew coffee along with notes of vanilla beans and hints of roasted malts. The coffee and vanilla linger into the finish. Little if any bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite drinkable because it does a very good job at hiding any traces of alcohol from the taste.

22oz. bomber into a Surly teku. Shared with schen9303.

Nose is espresso, chocolate, coca cola and chewy fudge. Solid. Beer is chocolate, roast, fudge, coca cola and espresso and mocha in the back. Sweet with overtones of molasses and tobacco. Syrupy at the finish. Medium to full bodied in the mouth and smooth and rich going down if with a little more carbonation than is appropriate.

I'd love to try the other Abduction variants as this is very solid. I'd like a little more coffee but ultimately, this is a beer worth trying.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a Speiglau Stout glass.

Look is pitch black with a tan coffee colored head that dissipates quickly.

Aroma is a lot of roast with a slight milky sweetness at the end.

Taste is roast bitter with lots of coffee and chocolate. Ends with a lactose sweet note.

Delicious beer. Ddfinitley can't taste the 10% alcohol.

22 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Bottled 6/22/16.

Pours a very dark brown, opaque, with a one inch head of dark foam, loose, oily lacing. Smell is coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate, some vanilla. Taste also leads with the coffee, more lightly roasted malt than the nose, vanilla, some chocolate, espresso, light cocoa. Light bitterness on the finish. Smooth, creamy, fairly full bodied, lots of carbonation.

Have had before, and it's still my favorite of the Abduction series. Well blended, lots of coffee aroma and flavor. Like the creaminess, too. Well worth a purchase, when it comes around.
