Bottle that was in a generous box from Jaycase. Phenomenal trader and all-around BA. I love my coffee stouts, so we will see how this holds up. From a 2014 batch, so it is quite fresh. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a standard snifter.

A- Pour yielded a small, light brown head that doesn't last long at all. Not the most light-resistant stout I've had. Browning around the edges. Hardly any lacing to speak of, though this beer does have legs.

S- Not getting nearly as much coffee as I had hoped. Dominated by vanilla and lactose sweetness. Milk chocolate comes through as it warms. Faint roast and coffee aromas peek through. However, I could definitely ask for more. Alcohol is masked really well, and that helps this beer a lot.

M- Best part of the beer. Very smooth on the palate. Subtle warming from the alcohol. Real nice.

O- Coffee stouts must have coffee. Flat out. This beer was certainly tasty, but undoubtedly needed more influence from the coffee and roasted malts. Enjoyable, but not worth the ratings it gets on here. To each their own! Cheers.

Very good. Toasty. Long chocolate finish.

Deep cherry nose and big vanilla on the palate- not that sweetened vanilla but the vanilla extract flavor.

Very warming at 10+%

Take your time with this and have a friend to enjoy it with.

Perfect for Chicago Spring 2014.
