Picked up a 22oz bomber in a trade with ksecler and poured into a stemmed tulip glass.

An amazingly smooth, tart, and fruity imperial stout. Pours midnight black with a fat fluffy tan head that lingers with decent lacing. Aroma is tart raspberry up front - you can tell they put a shit load in this beer - dark chocolate and just a hint of booze. Flavor is similar to the aroma - a lot of dark chocolate, nutty, toasted malt, with a big dose of tart raspberry that lingers on the palate. Hardly any trace of the high abv - as it warms you start to feel it though. Mouthfeel is soft and velvety, medium bodied, with a fairly dry finish. A great balance of flavors that layer one another perfectly. This would be so amazing barrel aged.......just sayin!

A: porter-black ale with a couple of fingers of tan foam

S: dark roasty malt chocolates sparkling with bright berry notes

T: dark juicy berries pop right through; as you drink, smoother chocolaty flavors settle in; left impressions of creamy cocoa with bright red berries on top

M: smooth, almost light and fluffy; sparkle of tart berry on the tongue; no cloying sweetness at all; bittersweet chocolate is subtle...

O: an excellent stout - impossible not to enjoy - makes me think of what Bourbon County Bramble and Backyard Rye ales might taste like without the rye or bourbon...

Appearance-Pours a very dark brown almost black with small tan head.

Smell- raspberry, chocolate, and roasted coffee.

Taste- tart chocolate covered raspberries, nice roasted coffee and some faint smokey and saltiness. I love the roastyness to this beer.

Mouthfeel-med-full bodied, silky and just enough carbonation.

Overall-another fantastic one by pipeworks. I really love this local brewery.
