Tasty but a little too heavy on the berry for me.

Bottled ordered online from Craft Beer Temple in Chicago. Poured into a snifter after being warmed up a few minutes. Batch #487-490

A: Pours dark brown but not quite black. Small ring of foam makes and appearance and then fades away.

S: First thing that hits you is an INTENSE raspberry smell. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I was smelling a very fruited sour. After the initial rush passes, a more chocolatey aroma makes its presence known and sticks around.

T: Just the perfect balance between the raspberry and chocolate. Couldn't ask for anything more. Neither are overpowering. Super smooth.

M: Since it's not barrel aged, the mouthfeel is not that heavy. More roasty than bitter. Surprisingly easy to put down given the bold flavors in a 10.5% imperial stout.

O: This definitely exceeding expectations and might have been the best "fruited" stout I have ever tried. The raspberry and chocolate are there in just the right amounts and work in perfect harmony. My biggest problem with beers like this are that their components usually punch you square in the mouth, but this one is just a pleasure to drink all the way til the end.

Pours a nice dark brown with a very noticeable raspberry red hue.

Smells heavy on the raspberry, easy on the chocolate.

Wow, this is something sweet to say the least. Lush chocolate paired with a refreshing tart bite from the plentiful raspberries.

Mouthfeel is thick, rich, and dessert like a perfect stout feel.

Overall, a little too sweet for my taste, but delicious either way.
