dark orange, nice head on top. smell is absolutely beautiful with a dark chocolate-candy orange aroma right off the top. those candies are awesome! this is awesome how it smells just like it.... otherwise, sweet biscuit-malt....
bitterness from the hops, but still getting some of that dark chocolate- candy orange taste from the aroma. can taste some of the alcohol in it, but it melds well with the malt and hops.
overall, a very nice brew. I had never heard of Pipeworks but their stuff is very good...

22 ounce bomber into a Pipeworks snifter.

Pours a nice looking orange/amber, a little hazy. Not much of a head or lacing. Smells of dank, citrusy hops- more orange to me, than grapefruit. Smells a little bit sweet as it warms. Taste continues the citrusy hops with a strong, malty backbone. Also get some floral hop flavor and a little mustiness. Some bitterness when it hits the tongue, not so much on the back end. Seems pretty sweet overall, and that's right up my alley. Very smooth, well carbonated.

Another above average DIPA from Pipeworks. A great single hop showcase and one you should try.

22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Handwritten Batch #240 written on the back label. Another variety of hop for another beer in the ninja series, although they have no changed the label and omitted the word 'ninja' from the label. I wish they'd kept the old label, but such is life and beer. Expectations are high based on Pipeworks' reputation for great beers.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass.

A - Pours a nice bright burnt sienna orange colored body with two fingers of fluffy creamy off-white head. Looks pretty damn nice; on par with the rest in the series. Some nice scattered lacing.

S - Smell is on par with the others also; it has that classic ninja smell to it. Tropical floral hops, peaches, grapefruit, apricots, some cream, some soapiness, hint of spicy rye heat, and just a hint of caramel malt to balance things out.

T - Taste is more dirty and earthy than it is floral, but still nicely tropical and fruity. Bitter grapefruit hops, pine resin, peaches, earth, caramel malt, some peppery rye, & mild alcohol heat on the end.

M - Feel is smooth and creamy, and ends bitter and resinous on the palate.

Overall, a worthy addition to the ninja family, albeit probably not my favorite. More dirty and earthy than some of the others, but it still has that classic ninja feel to it. 9.50% abv is well masked, but there is still a hint of heat. In all, it's another worthy offering from Pipeworks.

Pipeworks Cascade Ninja ---4/5.

A: Fairly cloudy dark, rusty, orange in color. Forms a moderate sized light tan colored head. Decent retention. Light lacing.

S: Very sweet and bready, almost like, well, sweetbread (not the offal, the pastry). There is a bit of citrus in the mix as well, but there really is just a lot of sweetness. Practically candy like.

T: Well, the sweetness follows over into the taste, but thankfully there are some other flavors to help balance it out. Grapefruit, pine, kumquats, and tangerine. A mix of citrus and pine, with the citrus being the more dominant. A bit of pine resin on the finish.

M: Medium bodied, lower carbonation, moderate bitterness.

O: Yeah this one is just too sweet for my tastes. Not a bad beer by any means, but the sweetness is a little overdone and there isn't a whole lot to balance it out.
