Split 3 ways, ended up with at least 12-14 oz.

Brownish black when poured, creamy mocha goam billows up on the initial pour. A small amount of lace, tiny flecks around the edges. Surface is glassy and still after a few minutes.

Aroma is roasty, with a subdued hint of dried cherry.

Taste is a little more fruit forward, the cherry comes across as dried fruit, lending a mellow tartness and natural flavors, tied up nicely with the roasty, chocolatey imperial stout base. Low carbonation, cherry lends a light acidic tartness which is expected.feel is smooth and not really boozy at all. In the series this may be the better of the fruited versions, though the coffee still gets my vote.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cough syrup and cherry syrup with light roasted notes is mildly enjoyable. Taste is a mix of cough syrup with cherry flavored syrup, quite a bit of residual sugar notes with some lactose. Body is full with creamy texture and good carbonation. Not a big fan of the cherry flavour in this beer.

From 06/07/16 notes. 14 oz. glass on tap at Gingerman in NYC.

Chocolate covered cherries, milk chocolate, roasted malts, cream, vanilla, chocolate syrup, bitter chocolate. Thick full body and low carbonation.

Overall really good; I liked it a lot.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black body. Deep black. Nice khaki head. Thick collar.

Smell - Cherry and chocolate. Kinda milk chocolatey. Not very dynamic.

Taste - Much more chocolate, but the cherry cuts into the richness of it. Makes it taste a bit artificial. Again, not all that interesting.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Not as tasty as other Abduction variants. Cherry really doesn't work.

The cherry is very subtle. There is more of a coffee undercurrent than a cherry taste. The base stout is quite solid. It is on a par with the others in the Abduction series
