Pours a deep reddish to orange-ish color with a white head. In the aroma, a small malty caramel sweetness. In the taste, a sweeter malt, almost tea like. A small bite, but mainly smooth with a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dryer light caramel malt in the aftertaste. Kind of a basic red ale.

On tap at Beermuda in New Kensington, PA.

Poured into a shaker: Deep reddish-amber under a finger of off-white head. Clear with gold highlights, nice color.

Smells of bready malt, mild strawberry or apricot, nice moderate hop profile.

Some mild fruits at first in the taste, some strawberry, a little sweet apple, light caramel, pretty clean finish.

Medium-light-bodied, smooth, maybe a little on the flat side.

Drinkable with a moderate flavor, a little on the thin side. Not my favorite from All Saints so far but doable.

All Saints Brewing
Crimson Halo

Pours a rich amber color, slight off white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, caramel, brown sugar and mild roast. In the flavor, toasted malts, caramel and orangey citrus upfront. The finish is pretty well balanced with a sugary malt sweetness and formidable hop bitterness. A fair amount of hop flavor, with citrusy, earthy notes and all due bittering, easy to pick out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, well carbonated and crisp. Overall, this flagship beer is a worthy one for All Saints. Definitely solid.

Draught @ brewery: Had a pint at the brewery and took a growler home. This one pours a fairly clear amber color. There was about a finger or so of an off-white head that didn’t linger long but left some lacing. Decent aroma. Mainly caramel malts, with some hints of earthy and floral hops. The taste is very good. Caramel malts, but no sweetness. Really well balanced with the hops. A bit of earthiness, some faint fruits. Nice mouthfeel. A very solid beer.

Brick hue/dark red-amber. Paltry head that meant nothing after it was over.

Red malt with steeped grain notes and light prune fruitiness. Mild toastiness that lacks defining character. Hops are few and stuffy, if much of anything. Slightly herbal.

Stocky malts dominate with some leftover spice and estery ale dark fruit. Still stuffy. Very generic and lowly-hopped. Mostly malty, with a kiss of earthiness.

Round body. Light carbonation with not much more than a smattering of bubbles in the finish. Wet. Somewhat sticky with wort sugars.

Hardly, middle-of-the-road. Totally underwhelming.
