A tropical, fruity IPA, not like any other. Actually smelled like fruit loops. Amazing tropical hop flavor with very little bitterness. Very drinkable so watch out. And great job by the fellas over at the Crop!

Pungent, Exotic, Grassy, Warmth

Another massive and very bold IPA to come from the NE, a pretty sharp bitterness is met by suggestions of tropical fruit like papaya, pomelo and guava with a kiss of blonde tobacco to boot. Bready malt barley peeks through to the palate.

22oz bottle. Pours a translucent brownish orange with a half inch of creamy head. Tons of lacing. The aroma is fruity and piney hops. Green apple, mango, pear and some guava. The taste is maltier than expected but still very fruity. Green apple, pear, and mango followed up nicely by some piney hops and the bready malts. Pretty noticeable alcohol burn. This one is billed as a IPA but certainly straddles the threshold of DIPA/IPA. Creamy mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation. Overall, this is a very good IPA I would grab again. I am interested in trying more from these guys.

This comes from Northern VT, so it has to suck. Big thanks to JCHOPS and Co. for the bottle :)

A - Pretty murky light orange color. Fluffly white head. Cool lacing. Nice looking brew.

S - Uh, okay...this reeks really, really good. Stone Enjoy-By type aroma mixed with northern VT hop treatment. Sold on the aroma alone.

T - Fruit juice, dank and earthy hops, a little malt sweetness and some of that oniony summit hop flavor I like. I think the correct term is a "metric shit-ton" of flavor going on here.

M - Smooth and creamy carb. Not too much or too little. Mouthfeel is perfect for an 8% IPA.

O - Yeah, so all of the VT trade wizards should direct some attention and love to Crop. If this is an indicator of their quality they deserve a bit of the HJ action the big 3 get, rightly so.

I picked this up on a recommendation from a very knowledgeable girl while waiting in line for some Heady Topper.

Hazy orange gold, with a light fluff of white head. Some speckly lacing, but the hop oils seem to be doing a good job of killing the head. Based on the appearance, I know this one is packed to the gills with hops.

Really dank and resinous hop aroma. This literally reminds me of my time living across the street from a Denver growhouse. Hi-test dispensary weed and some estery malt fruitiness creeping meekly behind it.

Man, this is a hefty beer. Not very subtle, but very enjoyable in a "wall of sound" rock-n-roll show fashion. Totally primal, this is one of the juiciest, oiliest DIPAs I've ever had. Lots of chewy caramel malt up front, with a dense, oily body buoyed by lively carbonation. The hops are as resinous as it gets, with a slick, orange juice flavor and plenty of old growth pine forest. The bottle states that this is 8%, but I'm getting no trace of booze at all. I'm sure you can find higher IBUs or more ABV, but for where this is seated in the food chain, they just nailed it. It punches over its weight and puts many, many bigger DIPAs in their place.

By no means is this an IPA. This one is firmly seated in DIPA territory. Great price point too, as an under-the-radar brewery. I'm slightly surprised that I waited in line for Heady Topper for a couple hours, but an equally worthy beer was almost entirely unnoticed by the entire crowd. I only saw three other people with a bottle of this in hand. I should have grabbed 3-4 bottles instead of one. For how gentle and refined Heady Topper is in its girth, this is completely the opposite. Barbaric, animalistic and slightly unhinged. I can definitely appreciate that, and this is a fantastic beer because of it.

Very, very impressed by this beer. It is funny how the picture is actually of a Lawson's "Sip of Sunshine", because that is exactly what drew me to this brew. For about a month, I had hammered down many of those bad boys. When I went to the store last Sunday, and they were on the shelf again I decided I had way too many of them and needed to try something new. There was the Crop "Idletyme IPA" for $3 cheaper per bottle. Why not? I had one, and was blown away by how smooth it was. It was probably the least bitter double IPA I've ever tried. Some may NOT like it for this reason, but I loved it. The closest thing I could compare it to is Fiddlehead "Mastermind", which is amazing. And all three of these doubles are much better than Heady Topper.

Served on tap in a pint glass.

Appearance: Hazy orange. Thick white head with mild lacing on the glass.

Smell: Hops, pine, citrus and sugars

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of bitter pine and hops with a goid citrus to balance it out.

Overall: Pretty goid IPA I would have this one again for sure.

22oz bottle, given as a gift, poured into tulip glass.

A - Hazy, golden hue with two finger creamy white head on pour. Head dissipates quickly, moderate lacing.

S - Brown sugar grapefruit, woody notes in the background. Very rich and inviting.

T - Rich malt balanced expertly with a woody herbaceous hop profile that ends on a mild grapefruit juice note. No flat bitterness on the finish, dries out clean and I dig it. One of the best bottled IPAs I've had in a while.

M - Creamy and luxuriant, well-balanced carbonation, dries out clean on the finish without the lingering acrid quality problematic in a lot of bottled IPAs.

O - A fantastic IPA, I wish I could get this on tap but the bottle was brought back from Vermont as a gift. Guess I have another thing to look forward to on a future visit!

Walked into the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury VT and asked them to point me to something good.
I walked out with 3 different bombers from Crop Bistro.
BA shows this as a DIPA but everything I see suggests this is an IPA.
A - Pours hazy orange with a big foamy head that settles slowly and leaves some nice lacing.
S - Not a strong aroma but I pick up some mango.
T - Flavors will not overpower you everything is very well balanced. A little citrus, a little malt, a little bitter. Very drinkable.
M - More carbonation than your usual IPA.
O - I really like this beer and would buy it all the time if I could. You may go to VT for Heady or Sip O Sunshine but don't walk past this one, it's a winner.
