A: Pours a slightly hazy gold with a creamy, clinging white head.

S: Aromas of biscuits, minerals, herbs, spruce and citrus are fainter and less distinct on the nose than one would normally expect.

T: Notes of pine, spruce, sage, peppermint, lemon, bitter orange, lime, kumquat, and grapefruit are underscored by traces of minerals, caramel, and biscuit. The finish is short, presenting a muddled rush of citrus, pine, and spruce with a biscuity flavor right before the fade.

M: Light in body compared to many examples of the style. Also, it is somewhat slick, lacking the resinous texture typical of most American IPAs. Carbonation is firm and prickly on the entry, but seems to disappear around mid-palate.

O: I am not certain what is going on with this ale. It isn't really all that great of an IPA, which is both surprising and disappointing since Country Boy tends to do the style justice. With a little refinement, this could be a solid beer, but as is, it just falls short.

This poured with a murky lemon yellow coloring. The head was beyond impressive as it had a fingers worth of dense foam that sat atop my beer and never left. It laced in a sheet along the sides of the glass and when I was finished the head sat like a marangue at the bottom.

The aromas were spot on for an IPA with a strong herbal hop presence, piney and bitter but then a juicy and sour grapefruit scent arrived.

The flavor is tasty with a mix of herbal hops and grapefruit. The pine is light but bitter and the grapefruit adds a touch of sweet and sour. The hops are strong and for the most part devours any malt flavor.

The feel is bitter and astringent, easily drinkable with a moderate carbonation.

I like this IPA a lot and Country Boy milked a ton of flavor out of this single hopped beer.

Poured into a pint glass from a growler. Growler was filled on Tuesday and opened on Saturday.

Pours a golden yellow/orange with a bright white, frothy head. Spectacular lacing lines the sides of the glass. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, and pine trees. Nice West Coast hop profile. Strong notes of bitter hops, lots of citrus, tropical fruit. Not much malt flavor going on, seems to be overwhelmed by the hops. Very refreshing and great carbonation. This one is very easy to throw back. Country Boy did an outstanding job creating this complex hop profile from one single hop. Glad I had a chance to try it.
