12oz can poured into a goblet
A- pours a bright amber orange with a one-finger head that disappears completely
S- fairly muted aroma; light bread crust, spent grain, a hint of nuttiness
T- light toasted bread crust, along with straight barley up front. Mid-palate gives a lemony note before turning into a hint of caramel on the finish. The finish is a bit astringent with a linger of cereal grains
M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a bit a watery finish
O- a bit rough around the edges, doesn't have that drinkability of a classic Oktoberfest

I am a Country Boy fan and excited to try their Oktoberfest.
From the can purchased at Party Source, can date 7/28/2020 (6 weeks old)
Deep golden color with a white head that dissipates quickly.
There is nothing exciting about this one, not even sure if it is to style.
There is quite some oohmpa missing here, not my favorite...

12oz can stamped CANNED ON 09/05/19 (42 days ago) poured into a krug at fridge temp 5.5% ABV. The beer pours hazy orange amber in color with off white head. The head recedes quickly to a pencil thin ring and not much else. Zero retention, zero lacing. The aroma is lager yeast and a hint of grain. The taste is extremely reminiscent of a cheap AAL. Hints of 2-row malt with a slightly sour, corny taste coming in mid to late palate. The mouthfeel is thin bodied, highly carbonated and undry (probably not lagered properly). Overall, poor. This beer wouldn't even score a good or above as an AAL. It literally has no traits of an Oktoberfest, except the use of lager yeast.

Now with several years of brewing under their belt, the Country Boy Brewing team finally tackle the oktoberfest style of lager for the fall season.
Golden and lightly caramelized to a slight amber hue, the faintly hazy lager hardly releases any froth of measure and filled to the brim straight from the taproom bar. Mild mannered aromas of light toast, nuttiness and damp grain roll onto the nose ahead of a grain-filled and starchy taste of caramel, honey and pecan.
While the malt-centric beer trends from a creamy grain taste and into a dry and tacky middle palate, its remnants shed a taste of peanut skins, raw barley and cola nut in its wake. All the while the mild hops pick up on a lemongrass flavor and a peppery balance to take an edge off of the malt on the late palate.
Medium bodied and trending toasty, the beer seems as much of a Northern German altbier as it does oktoberfest as the beer begins to resemble an amber ale that's made with the pieces and parts of German beer making. A lightly stemmy, minty and spicy woods linger leaves the palate tacky with grain sweetness and resonating with toasted cereal grain shortly afterwards.
