3.65/5  rDev -4.2%
look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Pours a clear brown with amber highlights and a solid half inch cream head that lingers, then leaves sheets of lacing.

Aroma is nutty, toasted bread crust, vanilla, and a significant bourbon presence. Floral hops and a hint of citrus add complexity.

Flavor is heavily vanilla, initially, with toasted malt carrying into a slightly citrusy finish. Very bready, with lemon, bitter hops, and grapefruit rounding out the profile. There's a hint of burnt bread flavor that may just be due to the use of deeply roasted malt.

Body is moderate, with fairly high carbonation. The finish is fairly dry.

Overall, a fairly balanced beer, with malt initially dominating, them succumbing to hops at the finish, and a slight bit of vanilla complexity.

On tap at Marshall Hall of Fame Cafe

Pours deep brown with some light shining through, small head. Smells of brown malts, brown sugar, earth and caramel. Tastes of brown malts, caramel/toffee and a hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium body and carbonation, crisp dry finish. Nice sessional me brown that pairs well with food

On tap at the brewpub in Lexington.
Small, weak and sticky off-white head over a dark red-orange-brown body.
Smells great, with penty of vanilla mixing with toasted malts. Smells very sweet; candy sweet, so its a relief it is not as sweet as suggested. Still, a bit too sweet for general consumption, but a good option as a dessert beer.

Low carbonation and near medium body; perhaps a bit under-carbonated. Smooth.

Excellent job at K.I.S.S. & delicious! I feel too many beers try too hard. This beer does not!

I tried this beer at Blinkers Tavern in Covenington. It poured a hazy brownish amber with white head that left some lacing. The scent had hints of brown bread. The taste was nicely balanced and very easy to drink. The mouthfeel was creamy with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a solid brown ale.

Country Boy Brewing - Shotgun Wedding. 4.8% ABV. 12oz can poured into a pint glass.

Look: Dark maroon body, appearing reddish through light with lots of floaties. Small amount of white lacing on top, before shortly ending up as a ring.

Smell: Tons of vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar, with a malty backbone.

Feel: On the thin side, with some carbonation to give it some weight.

Taste: Sweet vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar, with some malts. Finishes sweet.

Overall: This was one of my favorites when first getting into craft beers, and I've been waiting for it to get canned. Out of the can, it's just as good as on tap at the brewery.

Pretty thin and watery with not much head nor flavor to boot. The vanilla notes were imperceptible, and this beer was incredibly light and very session able.

Silky brown in the glass there was a nice off white fluffy head.

The scent is lightly chocolate with some dry maltiness. Touches of bread or cracker compliment the malts but are distant.

The taste is fairly one dimensional but a very good dimension it is. Chocolate fudge brownie dominates a slightly watery finish. The chocolate fudge is pervasive and delightful and makes this an absolute must if you visit Country Boy.
