Served on draft at Pies & Pints in Charleston, WV. By the time it hit the table it didn't have any head left, but had a nice dark brown color. The aroma is on the light side with a little vanilla wafting through and not much else. The flavor is likewise on the light side, with a mild in there blasted with some vanilla. Light bodied, of course. Nothing offensive, but too light to hold up to the vanilla IMO.

Country Boy Brewing - Shotgun Wedding. 4.8% ABV. 12oz can poured into a pint glass.
Look: Dark maroon body, appearing reddish through light with lots of floaties. Small amount of white lacing on top, before shortly ending up as a ring.
Smell: Tons of vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar, with a malty backbone.
Feel: On the thin side, with some carbonation to give it some weight.
Taste: Sweet vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar, with some malts. Finishes sweet.
Overall: This was one of my favorites when first getting into craft beers, and I've been waiting for it to get canned. Out of the can, it's just as good as on tap at the brewery.

Good aroma. Really had me hopeful! Took a sip and initially was impressed, then it just kinda dropped off. Every sip is similiar, initial rush of flavor, then just whimpers out.
Still quite drinkable. Just so much promise initially, with no follow through.

Pours deep brown with some light shining through, small head. Smells of brown malts, brown sugar, earth and caramel. Tastes of brown malts, caramel/toffee and a hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium body and carbonation, crisp dry finish. Nice sessional me brown that pairs well with food

On draft at the brewery. Blood-orangish-brown in color with a thin lacing of bubbly tan foam. Sweet caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar on the nose. Medium weight and pretty carbonated. Loads of spice and vanilla on the taste up front. Levels out on the back end and balances perfectly. Finishes smooth with a touchy of carbonation kicking back. Bittersweet baking spices, vanilla extract, and smooth caramel on the aftertaste.
Overall, very good. Underrated, in my opinion. If you like vanilla porters or stouts, this one is a good alternative in the same vein, albeit on the lighter side. Despite being only 4.8% abv, drinks like a much bigger beer. Very enjoyable.

Pretty thin and watery with not much head nor flavor to boot. The vanilla notes were imperceptible, and this beer was incredibly light and very session able.

Poured into a clear glass. Has a dark bronze/coffee appearance, fluffy tan head that dissipates quickly, little lacing.
Smells of toasted malts and toasted nuts, hint of tea. Sweet vanilla notes, faint bourbon, caramel, and brown sugar.
Tastes much like it smells. Tastes like toast, along with some sort of cola flavor, toffee notes, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and some chocolate. Altogether a very nice light mix of things. Feels smooth.

Tried at a chilis on tap. Pours dark brown with no head and no lacing. Smells smoky. Taste of smoke, vanilla with a very mild finish, very drinkable. Will find some to take home

Bought a six pack of this last November after enjoying it in a Lexington, KY restaurant.
Am drinking one this evening. Very interesting development. There is very little brown ale or vanilla flavor left. it seems to have transformed magically into a mild sour with a tart cherry taste. Quite good IMHO.

On tap this beer is all vanilla bean. So much so that it is reminiscent of root beer. A 4oz tasting pour was great, but I would worry about a larger pour. However, as a dessert w/ vanilla ice cream would be mighty tasty!
