Wonderful DIPA. This is the first beer from CB that I've enjoyed (Cliff Jumper isn't bad either...but this is on another level.)

So drinkable for 9%. Very balanced piney notes with a hint of tropical fruit in the background. Crisp mouthfeel with the perfect amount of bitterness.

Kudos Country Boy. You nailed this one.

On tap at the brewery.
Pours pale golden-amber with a white head. Streaky lacing.
The aroma is dank and hoppy.
The flavor is quite hoppy with pine and herbal notes dominant. Moderately high bitterness for style with lingering grapefruit peel notes.
Medium body and medium-light carbonation.

Pours the color of apple juice. The nose is as the name suggests very piney and dank. Taste is thick of hoppy bitterness. Flavor/bitterness lingers quite a while.

A: Pours a dark gold with a creamy, thin white mousse that recedes quickly and leaves minimal lacing in the glass.

S: Aromas of lemon, lime, mango, papaya, blood orange, mandarin orange, guava, pine, spruce, herbs, and caramel fill the nose.

T: Robust notes of pine, spruce, herbs, lemon, lime, kumquat, guava, mandarin orange, blood orange, mango, cream, biscuits, and caramel fill the mouth. The finish is sticky and warming, imparting lingering notes of pine, spruce, caramel, mango, guava, and orange underscored by mellow alcohol.

M: Medium in body and a bit drier than expected. Carbonation is prickly. Alcohol is fairly subdued. This is definitely an ale to be sipped slowly.

O: A nice DIPA from one of my favorite regional brewers. I really love the blend of aromas and flavors on display here.

Fresh from the tap on it's opening re-arrival. Not as piney as the first batch from last Spring, definitely as fruity and balanced though. You would never know you were into a Double IPA it's so smooth. Slightly reminiscent of Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Extra. I love them both. As usual, Country Boy delivers.

This beer is a great example of the freedom DH and the guys have at Country Boy. The special ingredients that make up this beer will not be found in any regular beers at other Lexington breweries.
