12 oz bottle, no bottled-on date, poured into a stange.

A- Pours a clear golden color with a thin, fizzy white head, leaves a bit of spotty lacing.

S- Sweet grain and corn, some mild floral hoppiness. Pretty simple but nothing bad.

T- More slightly-sweet grain and corn, has a bit of floral hops and bitterness, again pretty standard.

M- Light-bodied, smooth and crisp feel.

O- A solid light lager, it's not my favorite style of beer but is definitely on par with many of the light lagers you'll find from the US and Europe.

Pours clear, gold in color, with 1/3 inch head. Taste and smell are sugar and grass. Overall this is a typical light lager. Very clean, and slightly above others in the style, but nothing I would rush out for.

On tap into a pint glass

A - Beer arrives at the table with a white frothy head that is 2 fingers in height and dissipates rather quickly to a thin lacing. The beer itself is clear and golden with a slight amber tint to it. High carbonation based on massive amount of bubbles rising very quickly towards the surface. 3.5/5

S - Very subdued aroma but there are some light notes that are distinguishable. Buttered white bread comes to the forefront along with a very slight bit of caramel. Noble hops seem to make up the hop profile and provide a very clean aroma. 2.75/5

T - Much more flavor than aroma, luckily. Once again buttered white bread really stands out along with a slight note of corn and caramel sweetness. A slight grassiness pairs with a noble hop flavor creating just a light bitterness and clean tasting profile with no lingering flavor or bitterness. 3/5

M - Creamy at time reminiscent of a Czech pilsner with a light carbonation tickle, almost like a soda. Light to medium light in body and slightly dry but no lingering dryness. Crisp when not creamy. 3/5

O - Not a lot of flavor here but due to it's light flavor it does pair well with spicy and flavorful Ethiopian food, as it should. Easy drinking beer that sits very light and is well balanced between sweet and bitter. 3/5

Had it on tap when I was in the mood for something light and drinkable. From what the bartender told me, this fit the bill.

A- The appearance didn't bode well. Clear straw yellow reminiscent of a generic American lager

S- Weak smell. Some corn and a little bit of alcohol came through.

T- Pretty average. There's sweet malts and corn here, along with some hops on the finish. I can't help feeling that the malt is too weak to balance out the hoppy bitterness though.

M & D- Goes down easy, but I couldn't see drinking too many of these at a time.

Overall fairly average lager. Worth checking out at least once, but don't expect anything spectacular.

Pours a clear golden color with a 1/4 finger of white head.

Light hints of grainy malt with a slight hint of hops.

Light grainy notes with a hint herbal hops.

Light and drying feel with moderate amount of carbonation.

The drinkability isn't terrible but this one doesn't exactly wow me.

I don't have a highly analytical review for this beer. It's a simple light lager. I was drinking it and I didn't notice anything particularly bad about it, and at the same time it didn't have a whole lot of flavor (even for a light lager). It was just an average beer to have with some food. It's not something I'd look forward to picking up, but it's a good alternative to drinking a soda. It's cool to have an Ethiopian beer, but beyond that it's just another light lager. I felt it was pretty "okay" across the board.

Bottle, $2.99. Obscure Ethiopian tick = awesome.

A light golden yellow with a dense white head that falls off leaving what is actually nice-looking lacing, this looks pretty good! The nose is an acceptable blend of light cereal sweetness, doughy malts, a mild hop character that's got notes of dust and earth and a mild vegetal note as well. Nothing patently offensive here.

The palate is crisply carbonated, lending an acidity to an otherwise insipid palate. A little bit of cereal and grain sweetness is present, but this is carbonated and watery to a fault, lending a seltzer-like feel. On the bright side, it does scrub the vegetal notes, but that's not particularly a good thing as there is no flavor here. The flip side is that there are no off-flavors here, which is more than I can say for a lot of breweries these days. Light, watery, seltzer-like on the palate, this is pretty forgettable.
