I don't have a highly analytical review for this beer. It's a simple light lager. I was drinking it and I didn't notice anything particularly bad about it, and at the same time it didn't have a whole lot of flavor (even for a light lager). It was just an average beer to have with some food. It's not something I'd look forward to picking up, but it's a good alternative to drinking a soda. It's cool to have an Ethiopian beer, but beyond that it's just another light lager. I felt it was pretty "okay" across the board.

My first Ethiopian tick, wahoo.

Pale clear gold with surprisingly decent head retention for a macro lager. Nose is unsurprisingly awful, with a big sulfur aroma that overwhelms the pale malt and corn-like sweetness. It's slightly better on the palate, reasonably crisp and refreshing with a doughy malt flavor. Slightly mineral in the finish with little bitternes, though it's at least dry and relatively clean. Not exactly a good beer, but I've had worse.

12 oz bottle, no bottled-on date, poured into a stange.

A- Pours a clear golden color with a thin, fizzy white head, leaves a bit of spotty lacing.

S- Sweet grain and corn, some mild floral hoppiness. Pretty simple but nothing bad.

T- More slightly-sweet grain and corn, has a bit of floral hops and bitterness, again pretty standard.

M- Light-bodied, smooth and crisp feel.

O- A solid light lager, it's not my favorite style of beer but is definitely on par with many of the light lagers you'll find from the US and Europe.

Bottle, $2.99. Obscure Ethiopian tick = awesome.

A light golden yellow with a dense white head that falls off leaving what is actually nice-looking lacing, this looks pretty good! The nose is an acceptable blend of light cereal sweetness, doughy malts, a mild hop character that's got notes of dust and earth and a mild vegetal note as well. Nothing patently offensive here.

The palate is crisply carbonated, lending an acidity to an otherwise insipid palate. A little bit of cereal and grain sweetness is present, but this is carbonated and watery to a fault, lending a seltzer-like feel. On the bright side, it does scrub the vegetal notes, but that's not particularly a good thing as there is no flavor here. The flip side is that there are no off-flavors here, which is more than I can say for a lot of breweries these days. Light, watery, seltzer-like on the palate, this is pretty forgettable.

Pours a clear golden color with a 1/4 finger of white head.

Light hints of grainy malt with a slight hint of hops.

Light grainy notes with a hint herbal hops.

Light and drying feel with moderate amount of carbonation.

The drinkability isn't terrible but this one doesn't exactly wow me.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. Another Ethiopian beer? why not.

Straw colored gold body, crystal clear with lots of rising carbonation and some cola sticking bubbles. Head is shocking white, barely manages a finger and slowly falls. Out of the bottle it pours incredibly pale.

Nose is macro smelling sweet, a hint of cellar dampness and musty aromas. Maybe even a little salty. Sort of the usual here, nothing to get excited about.

Simple lager tasting, sweet finish and light bread malts. A very grainy sweet finish that lingers on, quite sweet lingering and a little husk.

Overall, it is what it is, nothing that gets me real excited. I think I 've had worse, but this doesn't exactly fill me with enjoyment.

330ml bottle poured into a 16oz pint glass.

A - Puffy two finger head. Golden-yellow color with a touch of amber in it. Head settles to a nice cap and generates spotty lacing.

S - Lots of sweet malt and some grassy hop undertones. Primarily still the usual corn and grain aroma, but at least I can easily pick out something encouraging here. There's also an ever so slight hint of cinnamon and spice here.

T - Toasty malt and some light caramel. I'm sure I taste pea soup in here as well. There's a citrusy characteristic present here as well. Although this lager boasts a bit more complexity in it's flavor profile than the average macro-lager, I'm not so sure I like it. Once again, most of what this lager offers is the usual corn & grain feel.

M - Bubbly carbonation and a rather light body.

D - Some funky flavors in here for sure. Something cool to try once, but I don't see myself revisiting this one.
