Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Thin white head, very little lacing, but a nice slightly cloudy yellow orange. A pleasant sweet- sour smell. The taste is lemony with vanilla and apples. Also an agreeable bit of funk. Overall, a good beer.

August 28th, 2013 - Elevation Brewing's Wild Flowers name itself conjures images of mountain fields filled with dainty flowers, shining in an Alpine style light - bleached and bright, and clear and crisp. Does the beer live up to the drinker's vision? The brew is a Scandinavian hey - light and pale straw, with hues of blue in the light, and the smell is very much in the hefeweizen family. The slight tang of yogurt, underripe banana and a touch of French vanilla cue the appetite symptoms. The palate id extremely velvety and soft, opening slowly to the flavor, which mirrors the nose, but ends with a more notable tangy touch. There's also an added touch of herbaceous, like crisp lettuce, and even a bit of oregano, though so muted as to be barely noticeable. Crisp, clear and different, this is a beer I'd love to have at the tippy-top of a hike.

from a bomber bottled 7/29/14 (as an aside... kudos to Elevation for making their "bottled on" dates very easy to read!)

Light apricot color, hazy, moderate carbonation and a little foam, not long lasting.

Aroma and flavor are both dominated by yeastiness. There's a nice mix of fruity notes, but I'm not going to pretend I can pick them all out individually. Not at all tart, unlike some saisons. Not at all bitter, just as expected for a saison.

Full bodied mouthfeel.

A very satisfying beer, full of flavor, without knocking you over the head. Elevation recommends having it with spicy foods, and that's exactly how I enjoyed it, with my wife's Pad Thai. Good stuff.
