My first White Flame Brew:

Pours a dark caramel color with minimal head when served. Small splotches of white lacing appear along the sides.

Smells of subdued citrus, orange peel, and some pine-y overtones. A bit of malt ties to creep through and I get some buttery caramel notes upon further inspection.

The taste features front heavy bitter pine, resin hop, and lemon rind presence. The malt backing becomes more prevalent as it warms. I would have assumed more malt presence with the darker appearance.

Clean and crisp feel in the mouth with a light body.

I believe this is a decent IPA and it can best be described as an easy drinking palette punishing brew...if that makes any sense.

A: Nice deep amber with a off white head. Laces glass as it goes down

S: Very piney with some citrus.

T: Sharply bitter at the front of the mouth with a slow lingering aftertaste. Not well balanced. Could use a little munich or more crystal to support the IBU's.

M: very average mouth feel for an ipa. slick feel forward and finishes properly with a medium feel.

O: disappointed with this beer. I was hoping for better. I can't get past the lack of balance. I felt it needed a little heavier body or less early addition hops?

Great tasting classic american IPA. 5.5% ABV fits in my "Session Beer" limits.

Brown-orange color with little head and nice lacing on the glass. Strong citrus and pine smell which follows through to the taste with a medium bitter finish.

Great IPA from this newly opened brewery.
