Cozy atmosphere, cheerful staff and a good selection of beer. I haven't had a chance to try any of the food, since they added the kitchen, but if it's anything like the beer...

Fairly non-descript taproom, beer is slightly above average to infected, service was fine and typically the draft board has nice variety. Like I said though I find the beer to be mediocre.

Have been in here a few times. Has a great atmosphere, a few TV's, and a nice selection of beer and Coke products. Food is not available from the establishment, but they let you bring food in, have food delivered or sometimes have a food truck outside. Service at the bar has always been prompt and friendly. Every beer I've tried there has been very good. My current favorite is Red Shoes, worth a try if you go. Looking forward to my next visit and trying a few other brews.

Small space, with a large pole barn behind, which I'd assume is there upgraded brewing system.
They have about 10 to 12 tap handles, with a good variety of options from a light Lager to a couple stouts, porters, and a barleywine I believe.
I had the cherry cordial stout, and it was pretty good. Had some nice sweet cherry notes to it, but it wasn't anything that blew me away.
The Maris Otter Porter was very good. A cool idea, and I commend them for that. The place had a really chill, local watering hole feel. Some locals, with snacks at the bar, etc. This would be a place I would hang out at if it were near by. I'd definitely stop by for another pint if I was passing through or in the Grand Rapids area.

We went for the first time today and will be back again on our next road trip to Grand Rapids. I had the Oatmeal Stout and they Hawaii Five O Stout. Both on Nitro and were tasty. The owner was there and a very cool guy. I also like the fact that you can bring food in and will do that next time from a local food place.

Let me first say this is my local watering hole.
Hudsonville was a dry town untill a few years ago, now there are two breweries. White flame brewery is owned by Bill White and his wife who due to her red hair is called Flame hence White Flame.
Atmosphere: It's on the small size but has a hand full of tables, a long bar with plenty of seats and a side room that has dart boards and a few high tops. I would say would hold close to 50 people at its max. 4 flat screens make watching sports very nice.
Quality: The beer is very good. 11 handles. Most 16oz pints cost $4 but there is always 4-5 specialty rotating beers that go up to $6. They do a sampler flight and Also sells/fills new howlers and growlers. They have all the varieties that craft beer dribkers are looking for. The main stays are:
Golden Boy: American Craft Lager 15 IBU 4.5%ABV- A very good starter beer for people who are just starting to get into craft beer and don't know what they like. Also for the guy who comes in and wants a bud light.
White Shoes: Pale Ale 35IBU 5.2%: A good pale for people that like the hop flavor but not the bitter after taste of an IPA
Eagle Eye Rye-PA 74IBU 6%ABV: One of my favorite beers. Huge rye flavor that is complemented with an explosion but balnced hop flavor. I compaired it very close to Arcadia Sky High Rye.
Super G IPA: 90 IBU 6%ABV: This is a hop lovers dream beer! It is in my top 5 favorite IPA'S. The malt flavor is not lost in intense hops. A must try if you are a hop hound.
Ugly Stick Oatmeal Stout: 41IBU 5.5% ABV: A very good oatmeal stout. Dark chocolate undertones with lovely cream head. This beer is also put on nitro. They nitro version is very very good.
Pup Porter: 43IBU 5.5% ABV: Just how a porter should be. Not too sweet and the bitterness is right in the sweet zone.
Black Sheep IPA: 85IBU 8%ABV A very good blacl ipa. Nice hops flavor that is complemnted by the rich chared malt overtones.
Their rotaional varieties include:
Passed Out Willy's DIPA, Red shoes - a habanero infused pale ale, BA Black Sheep and my favorite Glesga Kiss- a scotch ale/wee heavy that tastes imo like an unagged Founders Backwoods Bastard. It is amazing!
No food besides pretzels but they sometimes have food trucks in front and also welcome you to bring your own food.
Overall: I am proud to call this my local. All their beers are spot on and they will make you feel like family. So if you are driving down Chicago dr take a half hour out of your day and stop in for a beer or 2. I promise you will come again.
