12oz can poured into a tulip; head disappears instantly, body is an attractive murky gold color, almost completely opaque; sour peaches; vanilla; graham cracker; cinnamon; stone fruit; brown sugar; sweet and tart complementarily, with a creamy body that reminds you that lactose was used in this brew. Solid all the way around, these Shade's sours are well-executed.

another extremely tasty flavored ale in this sour series they do. great to have cans in the boise market of their stuff now. this one though, as good and delicious as it is, is really raw and unrefined, about half the can is this gloopy light brown sediment, almost looks like graham cracker flour or something, but its chunky to the point of not being drinkable, and its not just a little at the bottom, its a lot, and its a real turn off. the beer thats liquid that we do get out of the can is flat with no head at all, still quite sedimented, and this murkey rusty orange color, really unappealing presentation overall in the glass. the beer though has got killer flavor, im almost shocked how much i like it since i almost dumped this out just from looking at it. the peach is natural, there is cinnamon and vanilla in it that make it seem desserty, there is a real pie crust element as well, and enough tartness that it doesnt seem overly sweet, if there is lactose in here, its not overdone. the peach is real and ripe, and it really does taste like cobbler, so weird in a sour, but that part is clean and modest, and it works. obviously i want this cleaned up a whole lot, none of the others in the series have been like this, so maybe we got a bum can, and i hate that its totally flat, but i love the flavors and cant help but still be kind of impressed by this, even if its barely passable in this form. needs work, but i have been loving this series from shades lately!
