Plum and grape fruity notes with a not-too-sweet caramel taste throughout.

Don't really get a fig taste, and the flavor is not extremely memorable.

However, this brew does a great job of delivering a big beer without a heavy alcohol taste. It could be a sessionable big beer (for people with higher alcohol tolerances)!

Also, it has a deep dark color and keeps decent head retention.

Shared bomber bottle.

Rich flavor with a nice, but not overdone, fig contribution. Plenty of dark fruits and good complexity. Good bitter-sweet mix.

Overall: recommended.

22 oz bottle pours a surprisingly light brown color with a fairly small cap of off white head. Retention and lace are both unremarkable.

Nose is a nice combo of mildly chocolate malt, figs for sure, apples and leafy caramel. Maybe a little nutty yeast comes out as it warms.

Interesting flavor profile...nutty and fruity - fruitcake even. But the malts are incredibly light and do not provide enough rich caramel flavors. The figs really are profiled to excellence though...almost like sugar-covered figs with honey and dark rum drizzled on the top. Its a interesting beer, maybe not great, but very good. Unfortunately at nearly $15 a pop it will be hard to justify more bottles.
