22 Oz bottle. No bottling info

Pours a solid black body with a tan head. Some retention. Lots of thick lacing

A smoke quality leads off the scent with coffee and chocolate notes following.

Taste of smoky roasted coffee abound. Boozy alcohol finish

Feel is not quite full but perhaps the booze notes are interfering

Overall a solid Imperial stout. It's in line with Lagunitas Imperial stout

Near black with a light plum hue. Half finger of dark mocha head. Pretty lacing.

Chocolate and umami in the nose.

The chocolate and umami continue to the taste where they’re met with strong char in the finish. Just a hint of alcohol underneath all the burnt bread and ash. There’s a hint of cherry in there as well.

Nice lightly creamy feel with solid carbonation.

The char in this one really lingers. I generally like the quality in an RIS, but it’s a little too strong for me here. The other flavors are really spot on, though.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours nearly black, opaque in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, a hint of coffee, licorice, vanilla and dark dried fruit, nice. Flavor is dark toasted malt with some light char, coffee, dates, malted milk balls. Finishes with charry dark malt with a good dose of grassy hops, which was unexpected, but good. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A very nicely made imperial stout that is kind of a hybrid between the RIS and American styles. There is a lot of classic RIS flavors here, but maybe with a bit more char. The hop finish is more American, but the malt depth supports it well and it makes an nice flavor progression. Flavorful and well made, well done. I'll be buying this one again. The bottle does not mention "Shuksan", but the ABV is right and it does taste like the base for the nice Oak Aged version from earlier this year, so it must be the same stout.

On tap in a tulip glass at the Kentucky Street location (K2). A lovely brew, with a wonderful balance of sticky molasses malts and a more than sufficient IBU count (95!). An obvious nose of rich, but not too dark, brewed coffee. This was one I would come back for, especially if it was offered on nitro.

Very dark brew, near opaque, with a wisp of dark beige foam in the Caution Brewing nonic. Pleasantly fizzy on the tongue.

Sweet and fruity. Raisiny with a nice hoppy zing. Big candy note, dried figs, and a really fat caramel sucker. A touch of licorice. Not too bitter, and not too sticky.

A flavorful and friendly big Stout. From the 32 oz jug filled the other day at the Kulshan brewery in Bellingham.
