22 oz bottle- Pours clear dark burnt orange with a large light tan head with decent retention. Aroma is cinnamon, mint, malt. The taste is cinnamon, mint, malty, not screaming pumpkin here, more of a spiced winter warmer, it's not bad though.

You can't fault the appearance of this brew. Mahogany amber color with a handsome pile of off-white foam that sticks in rings to the tall goblet. Mouthfeel is sprightly and sudsy. Subtle aroma of roasted grain and doesn't seem to be spiced up much. There is a modest sweet malt taste with just a little dark caramel and a hint of pencil shavings.

Actually, I liked this cold from the refrigerator. Quite refreshing. I compared it with an Anchor Christmas Ale, which seems bitter and thin by comparison. So it's not as squash-flavored as some would like, but it's clean and we are spared the typical overdose of pie spice. From the 22 oz bottle purchased from Haggen Market in Burlington, Wash.

When I choose to drink a pumpkin ale, I expect it to have pumpkin flavor. It is non-existent in this beer. It tastes like an amber ale--and not a good one at that. Meh.

The pumpkin is very subtle. Almost non-noticable. Tastes like an amber/IPA ale. Slightly Chaffy flavor but not bad. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Solid local brew.
