This Black IPA is now named "Bang and Go Back", referencing boat races on Buckeye Lake from back in the day.
Very reminiscent of Brew Kettle's Black Rajah; If you're a fan of B-IPA's, this will satisfy.

About damn near perfect for a Black IPA. I've tried a lot as I've fell in love with the style as soon as I found it. Sad to say many taste like porters, the roasted flavor overwhelming the hops. Not this one, they have done an amazing job with this. The Aroma still has that smokiness of the black, but you get hints of citrus in it, the taste is an explosion of hoppy goodness. A good balance of Alpha bitterness and Beta aroma. This is very likely my favorite purchased Black IPA.

22 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention is decent, and there's a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, piney hops, bittersweet chocolate, and some coffee. The taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some burnt/charred malt and a bit of spicy hops. Finishes bitter and roasty. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good Black IPA, with a good balance between the hops and roasty malt. Definitely worth a try, I know I'd buy this one again.
