Deep red. Moderate head.
Smell of cough syrup, cherries, malts.
Taste is plain strange. Loads of syrup, cherry menthol, sweet, with a slight sour note. Still quite cloying.
Almost heavy bodied - like an English Strong Ale, BUT with light-ish carbonation.
A real mis-match, disjointed, and not for sour fans at all :-(

Serving Type: 750 mL Cork and Cage bottle
A- Pours a hazy Red-Brown (no wonder) that gets much lighter around the edges. Topped by a quickly dissipating 1 finger white head. Patchy lacing.
S- Maraschino cherries, slight hit of balsamic vinegar on the finish.
T- sour red cherries, red liquorice (twizzlers). Again, slight hit of balsamic vinegar on the finish.
M- Silky medium body and vibrant, but moderate carbonation.
O- As my first Kriek and Lambic, I must say that I was impressed. Sweet yet with a sour quality. Definitely not something that could be drunk in any excessive quantity but a great sipper for sure.
