Nice complexity from the Goudenband with dark fruits, nice sourness, cola. Nice cherry presence which goes well with the complexity. The only problem is the additional sweetness. It's a bit much

Fruit roll up brown-red pour. Looks like actual fruit instead of neon red and some simpletons might find that offputting. Medium fizz, thick body.

Aroma is soft. Cherries, lightly sharp bacterial malt. Much smoother than the beers blended to create it, which isn't surprising since cherries have a way of doing that. The softness is pretty unexpected, though, since those are both very bold beers.

Tastes much more flavorful than the aroma led me to anticipate, and that's a good thing. Real cherries up front and all throughout, a lightly tart middle, and an incredibly smooth, chewy finish and a fruit leather aftertaste.

An exquisitely crafted beer, absolute classic.

Nose is astringent and sour, with loads of sour black cherries.

The taste is amazing. Sweet cherry pie, crust and all, richness from the oak.

Chewy finish that has a feel of a heavily barrel aged Bruery beer.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

Dark purplish red, almost getting into brown color for the body. Nice fine pink light bubbles that cut through on the side. A bit of clarity towards the top, but quite dark to see through. Off pink to a tannish red colored head, easily makes two fingers and a creamy top. Settles with a thin half finger creamy head and a nice populated big collar. Thin sheets of leggy lacing while drinking.

Cherry juice waffs over large on the nose. Does manage to stay away from medicinal but does come off with a good deal of sugar quality. Luckily stays away from overly sticky and syrupy, or medicinal.

Palate is a fruit lovers joy. Deep tangy and sweet cherry, even a little bit of sweet malt and good sucrose that manages to really pick up the fruit character nicely. Rich and great washing body while staying away syrup and medicinal flavors.

A real simple fruited Belgian, but so easily enjoyable and drinkable that is just hits high on the chart of satisfaction.

Had this yesterday at Stone in Escondido. I enjoyed the beer. The cherry aroma and flavor were quite apparent. The one thing that I didn't really care for was the sweetness they add to it (stevia?). The color, aroma, mouthfeel, and flavors are great.
