First had: on tap at TH
Hopped exclusively with "experimental hop 05256."
Cloudy, pale yellow pour, with a half inch of frothy white head; good retention, and layers of lacing on the glass. Light aroma, grassy, notes of lemon, and an earthy vegetal presence. Crisp lemony taste up front with some light grassiness, earthy and grainy with toasted oats mid-palate, herbal in the finish with slight flavors of onion and bell pepper, and a clean bitterness in the aftertaste. A little weird. It's good that these new hops are getting around, but I'm not really sold on any of them yet, compared to the tried and true varieties. But we'll never know until we try them, hence the "experimental" tag. Nevertheless, crisp mouthfeel and easy drinkability, body was light-medium. Good brew.
