I dont know if this entry differs from the "stainless" version that was released on tap/growler and in bottles previously but since I got a chance to try this again recently, I figured id toss up a review. Note: this is infact a new batch and different from what I remember this beer being.

1-liter growler filled on 3/8/15. Thank you tenderbranson and slatetank for the hookup. Poured into a matching only void snifter, the brew appears brown in color with a thin khaki head. Some cola clarity around the edges and a silky khaki cap rests atop.

The smell is sweet of raisons, dates, molasses and cola/root beer. Some faint roast elements and a touch of alcohol increases in intensity as it warms up.

The taste is sweet like the previously mentioned dark fruity character like raison/dates and molasses. There is a hint of anise and it imparts almost a feeling of cola/root beer which is strange. It gets somewhat herbal/medicinal as the sweetness transitions to mild bitterness and faint belgian/saison-like clove spice in the finish with a touch of chocolate roastiness.

This is a medium to full bodied brew and moderately carbonated. This beer is like a strange halfway house caught in an identify crisis between a dark fruit beer, a stout and quad/saison. Its not bad...its just different. Having had prior batches of this beer I cant really say that I dig this as much as I remember but its still enjoyable for what it is... wait, what is this again?

16 ounce can into a munique glass.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this beer. I've had TH pale ales and IPAs and been wowed, but then I had their pilsner and was highly disappointed.

Can they handle an imperial stout?

Indeed they can. This is excellent. Right from the nose I'm finding a lot to appreciate. It's creamy, chocolatey, with a dark fruit medley and a bit of bitter cocoa. All of this carries over to the flavor. It's a bit gooey, chocolatey, heavy on the dark fruit and a touch of caramelized sugar. The finish lingers with coffee.

And it drinks pretty well. Creamy, sweet but restrained, and a touch roasty.

Well, the pilsner wasn't their lane, but this is. This is damn good.
