Notes:
Collaboration with Hunter from Champion Brewery. IPA brewed with wheat. Hopped intensely with Nelson Sauvin and Cascade. Fermented atop Cabernet Franc grapes from Hunter's family winery in Virginia. A real seasonal treat!

Appearance: pours a dark apricot colored orange. a half finger or so of a white bubbly head with good retention and leaves behind some serious lacings. super hazy, yeasty and opaque
Smell: lots of hoppy tropical fruits and fruity juiciness. citrus (ranging from a light orange to lime), papaya, more tropical fruit, white grape and vinous whiffs.
Taste: opens up with a strong burst of hops. some orange starts it off but quickly becomes more lime like. papaya and other tropical fruits come through in waves. the flavors are juicy throughout. the maltiness is very subtle but offers a slight sweetness. white grape comes in towards the end and gives off a sweet vinous taste. yeast is present with some peppery to mineral aspects.
Mouthfeel: very juicy, refreshing, strong bitterness. slightly like a white wine at times though. good medium to strong dryness.
Overall: glad we finally got to try some of this down at Champion, and glad I got to try it. Its right along the lines that I'd expect from tired hands, which means its quite tasty and very well done. glad the grapes did not over power and turn this beer into something else. great balance. I also really like their yeasty esters that come through as a peppery mineral water, that works so well with farmhouse and hoppy beers.

I appreciate tenderbranson69 for sharing this 1 liter with me, enjoyed chilled in a teku, review from notes.
The color is a golden apricot shade with thick hazed appearance and cream head with ultra fine bead and lace collects in a film. The smell has tons of nelson aroma with subtle dank herb and gooseberry-like vinous odors. The feel is very tangy and juicy with light grape tannic body with mild juiciness in the hops with low sweetness and light alcohol with yeasty creaminess and dry finish.
The taste starts juicy with light grape-like aroma that converts to tase in a jazzy nelson acidity in hop flavor with slight herbal almost grassy and slightly peppery flavor with a mild melon enhanced taste with low malt toastiness as it finishes dry. This is a very good Nelson IPA- the grape is mild in the taste but it works well in a cohesive and highly drinkable unit

From 10/04/14 notes, on tap at the brewpub.
Pours a murky orange color with one inch of off white head and low to moderate carbonation evident. Citrus hops, grapes, earthy malts, oranges, nectarines, floral hops, and dank pine hops. Medium body and low carbonation, with some light bitterness.
Overall pretty good, not as wine-y as I was expecting. Some grape must, worth checking out.
