Notes:
I’m Sad is our Imperial Coffee & Honey Porter brewed with a dash of lactose sugar, pillowy malted oats and a complex array of specialty malts, as well as heap of New Jersey blueberry blossom honey. Lightly hopped with Chinook and then laid to rest upon our single origin Awake Minds; this batch features a bean from the Yirgacheffe district of Ethiopia. Notes of milk chocolate, toasted sesame, bright coffee, dark bread crust and cooked cherry.

It pours dark brown with a slow-building, fat finger of dark tan head. The head leaves solid rings of lacing.
Clear breakfast-roast coffee stands out first in the nose, along with roasted malts, a hint of vanilla, lighter chocolate and a whiff of carbon dioxide. It has a dry, Irish Stout character to it.
The taste is pretty similar, with lighter coffee than the aroma and stronger malts. There’s a definite creaminess to it, too, while maintaining a dry, roasted malt, slightly-nutty finish.
It’s full bodied for a porter, with a nice slickness to the feel, and fairly strong carbonation.
This is a great, normal coffee beer. Fifteen years ago it would have been world class. Today, it’s a fine example of what the style should be, without trying to push any boundaries (except maybe the can art, wtf?). 11/05/18 canned on date.

From draft at TH. Inky brown/black with a tan head. Delicious coffee/chocolate malt on the nose and palate. The 8.3% abv is there with some heat on the finish, but this is a delicious brew.

Very dark, honey flavored porter that tastes more like a sweetened coffee. No real flavors of honey in my opinion but regardless it still has wonderful coffee smell and taste. Very smooth and easy to drink even though its an 8.5% beer. A must try if your just starting to get into porters because of how smooth and coffee like this beer is.

On tap at the Fermentaria in Ardmore, PA. Very easy drinking. More honey than coffee. If you're intimidated by a porter, start with this one. This was my first time to this location and the "I'm Sad" was a great start.

The murky brown ale color leads to a complex nose with contrasting scents of honey, coffee, and chocolate. The flavor was right on point though. You get a sweetness and richness from the honey and there is no bitterness on the coffee. Body is to style as well.

Not sure if the recipe has changed over time, but I gave this a 3.89 when I first had it quite a while ago. Had it again on 1/22/17 and it was pretty darn good. Still a bit thin, but very smooth and creamy. Very nice coffee flavor.

32 oz growler into a teku
Appearance: Dark brown with 2+ fingers of a khaki colored head with OK retention. Body is dark but not opaque.
Smell: Coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, hint of caramel.
Taste: Similar to the aroma. Very coffee forward. Also notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, mild smoke and earth. Theres a medium amount of sweetness throughout, no actual honey character.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a soft feel and low/medium gentle carbonation. Not super boozy, but the 8.5% isn't exactly masked either.
Overall: Good solid porter. Not the best that TH has put out, but worth a try.
