a - vigorous pour (only way to get a good head with these milkshakes) resulting in a great fluffy head that dissipated after a minute or two. hazy beer, golden hay, moderate lacing.

s - vanilla and melon on the nose, another fruit I can't quite pick out but it's not lychee. some subtle mint.

t - vanilla in the front... and the back. works really well with the light piney hops. faint lychee that I couldn't pick out otherwise, melon, strawberry, mint, orange, mango.

m - creamy, sweet, low bitterness, full-bodied, good carbonation for the style, a little slick.

o - didn't get much lychee here and overall it actually tastes more like a mangosteen. it's great and dependable but there isn't much of a detectable difference between this and the strawberry milkshake.

Looks great, with a unique milky-hazy appearance. But other than that... overtly sweet, cloying. I don't get much milkshake flavor. I shared it with friends and none of us wanted to finish it. The passionfruit version was a lot better.

White head. Hazy golden yellow.

Very similar to the passion fruit. Pretty much the same beer but hoppier and less fruity. The lychee and vanilla come through more.

Very nice IPA. Enjoyable.

Super cloudy light yellow color. Beautiful lychee, vanilla, and citrus juicyness to the nose. The flavor follows the nose with a fruit nectar flavor and feel. A very unique and delicious beer.

16 oz. can. Very hazy pale yellow. Smells of diacetyl immediately. A little lychee and tropical fruit. Taste is again really strong on the diacetyl. Lychee and tropical fruit up front. Then a ton of milky lactose sweetness. Very creamy. Medium heavy. Well, I don't really like lactose, but the lactose actually works well. The diacetyl is the killer.

Poured from a can into a Tired Hands teku glass.

A: A deep, thick yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly.
S: Sweet, but not overwhelming. Some lactose coming through.
T: Fruity candy. No bitterness at all. Very good.
F: Thick mouthfeel and just a little bubbly.
O: Another awesome milkshake. These are so good, and this is no different.

Poured from a 16oz can dated 3/15 into a Jester King Halloween Spectacle 2014 Fluted Stem.

Appearance: Thick, thick white head with extreme persistence, likely from the oats. Some lacing but nothing special there. The beer itself is an opaque golden yellow, hazy and radiant.

Smell: Wow, does this smell exactly like I hoped it would. Very juicy with hints of vanilla, citrus and cream, it smells basically like an orange creamsicle. No hints of bitterness from the hops, just pure juicy and sweet vanilla cream.

Taste: The tangy and fruity juicy of the nose comes up front here too. I'm familiar with lychee as a flavor, but honestly the fruit I'm getting more of is best described as strawberry. The hops play a part in here too, adding a slight bitterness and another layer of the juicy character, some orange rind. The finish is pure vanilla ice cream, the sweet lactose and vanilla really round this out and complete the experience.

Mouthfeel: Quite thick for an IPA, and kinda sticky as it lingers. Carb is lower than typical for an IPA but it doesn't bother me with this beer, which really transcends styles.

Overall: Incredibly impressed with this beer. Really captures the whole "milkshake" thing and is exceptionally well executed. Can't wait to try the others in this series.

Big thanks to my friend Brandon for giving me a can of this one. I thought it was excellent; super smooth and creamy and tons of great fruit in the nose and taste. Would love to get more of this one.

Like a smoothie...fruity berry/tropical smell
Feel is smooth sweet with moderate acidity milld carbonation semi dry finish
Taste is a mix of fruity tropical and smoothly sweet with light alcohol and astringent flavors almost lemony tanginess
Overall this achieves a level of fruit smoothie meets beer whether or not it is considered acceptable is a debate unto itself

re-review from can poured chilled directly from fridge (settling occurred) 6-25
color is golden with slight haze -poured half and other half is thick with some pieces of fruit(?) in the bottom
The smell is really great -fruity and tropical with a strong vanilla odor and slight tangy citrus with mild grape-like vinous scent. The feel is tangy, juicy and full feel with medium high carbonation and slight astringent aspect with mild bitterness and semi-dry finish with a subtle creamy texture

The taste is very good - tangy with fresh fruitiness of the Lychee in a balance with malt sweetness and subtle bitterness to balance with strong vanilla in the taste and slight citrus hop flavor with subtle peppery accent and -Overall the enjoyment is pretty high considering the hop fruit yeast and vanilla there is a lot to have in balance for this to work and it does what it sets out to do. If you can get past the concept and just focus on the flavor I believe it is a superior example of this

Another great entry in the Milkshake series ..arguably the best I've had in hindsight. Smooth and creamy bursting with piney, resiny citrus, sugar cookie aftertaste ..flawless.

This is a very unique beer. Reminds me of a creamcicle but the sweet fruity flavor works well with the hops. It has a great mouthfeel, very thick and smooth. I wouldn't want to drink it all the time, but I really liked it and thought it was a cool beer.

Growler from the brewpub.

Lychee has been my wife's favorite fruit since before we met, so obviously I had to bring a growler of this home to her. As typical with all the Milkshakes, thick and opaque in appearance, dirty yellow, with a well-retaining, creamy white head. Hoppy, floral aroma, hints of vanilla. Taste of lavender and rose petals, citrus juice, vanilla cream. Personally, I can't eat lychees. I find them sickeningly sweet, but fortunately they worked very well in this beer, hitting a good balance with all the other elements. Thick body--something that rarely is a good quality in an IPA, but is great in this series--smooth mouthfeel, and full of flavor. Another good one.

Just finished a 64 oz growler that was purchased on 9/2/2015. I have had the pineapple milkshake IPA a month or so ago and thought that it was a solid beer. First of all, I didn't even know what a lychee was. I had to google it and even after that, I still didn't know what to make of it. I had no basis as to what they taste like so I wasn't sure how it would come across in a beer.

I am happy to say that lychee milkshake was absolutely delicious! I am lactose intolerant but this beer is worth all of the pain. Because of the lactose sugar in the beer, it makes it sooo creamy! The cloudiness also is very appealing.Combine that with the amazing smell, and the hint of citrus and vanilla at the end, it makes for an amazing experience.

I fully recommend this if you can get your hands on it. The only downside with any Tired Hands beer is that it's expensive. You get what you pay for but I feel like their profit margin has to be ridiculous.
