Thick, deep orange in body with white head that fades. Aroma of citrus, papaya, light strawberry, grass, pine. Tastes of strawberry, citrus with rind, mango, papaya, milk, grass, pine. Medium hop bitterness. Thick in body with medium carbonation.

Canned 7/15/16; drank 9/29/16 @ the Palace.

Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.

Nice off-white head; minimal lace.

Strawberry, honey, apple & orange citrus notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Strawberry, honey & apple flavors up front; mango notes on the finish.

This is a straight-up fruitgasm; delicious!

I am not a fan of oddball IPA beers. This a milkshake IPA beer. The last concoction IPA beer I had was not that good. The beer is 38 degrees and served in a pint glass. The head produced from the pour was dismal. A half on finger white head that is airy. The color of the beer is SRM 3 a pale straw with golden hues. The clarity of the beer is hazy. The beer is just over two months old. Overall the appearance of the beer is okay.

The aromas in the beer are oranges, strawberries, milk, toasted malts, a honey-like sweetness, lemons, mandarins, and grapefruit, and a touch of floral.

The flavors in the beer are vanilla, oranges, strawberries, milk, toasted malt, lemons, mandarins, grapefruit, wheat, floral, and a touch of herbs.

The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent and dry.

The body of the beer is medium, medium-high carbonation, and medium finish.

This beer is okay. I do get the strawberries and the milk but the milkshake part of the IPA, I do not care for.

This one pours a lightly hazy golden straw yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells great - fresh strawberry puree, orange, grapefruit, vanilla, and lactose.

I guess this is the original milkshake, and it's still a very tasty beer. The strawberry is done in a judicious way, with a nice jammy sweetness, but nothing overwhelming. The vanilla is also done well - the strawberry creamsicle feel is nailed. It still actually feels like an IPA, as there's a great zesty juiciness and some light grassiness on the back end.

This is creamy, but crisp, with a great level of drinkability. I could drink a lot of these - which is something I cannot usually say for milkshake IPAs.

It's hard to believe that this could be considered an "approachable" milkshake, but it really is.

Appearance - Pours opaque dull orange with a nice white head that settles to a thick ring. Spotty lacing all around the glass.

Aroma - Lactose, oats, vanilla, strawberry, fresh hops. mosaic coming through nicely.

Taste - Nice vanilla, mosaic again coming out well, less strawberry than the nose but still present.

Feel - Medium bodied good carbonation, drinks more like a good IPA than a milkshake. Not super thick or creamy.

Overall - Well done IPA, hit al the notes of vanilla and strawberry, I like that the hops are not masked.

Pouring from a 16 oz. can into a snulip glass, this beer pours out a light and cloudy orange. It forms a pinky worth of tingy white bubbles to form a crown.

The nose brings faint strawberries mixing with slight vanilla and a thick sweetness. Almost green hop bite and a little bit of cracker like malt showing.

The taste brings in a faint strawberry/vanilla yogurt sweetness but is more dominant with a big time peppery presence. Some green hop notes and a dried out cracker background. Almost like the yogurt previously mentioned with some orange juice splashed in.

Not hugely thick or full for a milkshake, and only slightly creamy. But it is smooth.

Overall, it’s really not what I expected from my first Tired Hands Milkshake after all I’ve heard. It’s much more subdued on the Milkshake aspects than expected and heavier on the ipa aspects than expected, maybe that’s why it appeals to a greater audience? The balance is respectable, I just wanted a little more.

Cloudy pale orange with two fingers of antique white head. Spotty, soapy lacing.

Strawberries, cream and a little grass in the nose.

Less strawberry in the taste, although it’s certainly present. Very peppery. More milky than creamy.

Full bodied with some prickliness to the carbonation.

It’s a good beer, but not as fruity as many of their non-fruited IPAs and I’m not getting the same blast of vanilla I get from many of their shakes. Worth trying, but not my favorite in the series.

8 oz. on tap.

Pours hazy pale yellow with white lacing.

The nose is strawberry, orange, and vanilla yogurt.

The taste is similar. Lighter on the palate than expected. Strawberry, mango, and dank Mosaic. Minimal lingering bitterness.

The mouthfeel is medium for a milkshake.

Overall, very good. I've had beers from TH without fruit that are even fruitier, though.

Not bad. All the hallmarks of a Tired Hands milkshake, but not much of the strawberry was coming through for me. Plenty of vanilla, not so much strawberry. Maybe it's just me.

Canned 4/2/18, drank 7/18/18 - bad on me. Seemed like it would have been great if I drank it fresh as all the other attributes were right-on, but could only get a whiff of strawberry and the hop haze had already started settling. Lesson learned. Look forward to trying one fresh. Tried to rate it around average anyway.

Poured a more yellow color than I was expecting, I thought strawberry milkshake would result in more of a pink or red appearance, but this was clearly yellow with at best, a very light pink hue only noticeable when held up to the light and on the edge. Aroma is a neat little mixture of Mosaic, Citra and Strawberries. I can dig it man, it tempers the Mosaic a little bit, so it isn't as offputting to people who aren't giant proprietary hopheads.

Taste is a nice mellow run. The bitterness is largely in check, the lactose addition is small yet complimentary. The strawberry flavors are in check, not overly sweet, very well done. Its a good mix of proprietary hops with some fruit and sweetness to cut down on those hop flavors. I liked it.

Pour milkshakey, very thick dark yellow with a rocky white head. I gotta be honest... I know this is within stye, but I really don't like the way these look. But whatever. Appearance is a dumb thing to knock points off for.

Smells of very intense Mosaic hops and not all that much else. As it warms I kinda get a little bit of strawberry in the aroma, but it's mostly just the Mosaic.

Tastes more balanced, with the citra and berries shining through a bit (though they are still overpowered by the Mosaic). Citrus and light spice up front, getting fruitier and more tropical in the middle, and finishing with a wash of OJ and lemon.

big seedy strawberry up front provides an almost tart flavor, blueberry gelato, peach, grapefruit, some mellow vanilla sweetness and a creamy quality. there are some mellow herbaceous green notes and a pithy smack of bitterness on the finish rounds this one out. all of the adjuncts are detectable but none are overly assertive. a really interesting and well rounded beer, excellent stuff!

Pours a hazy thick gold with a big frothy cap. Nose is pure hops. Sweet bright tropical fruit, grapefruit, and tangerine. Really pungent. Not picking up strawberry, just candied tropical fruit. Taste is bitter hops clashing with sweet and creamy malts and oats. Apple is more apparent than strawberry, but digging it either way. Really cool direction! Feel is mega thick with underlying bitterness after the candy sweet hops.

Glad I traded for this one and certainly delicious! One of the most memorable beers I've had. This is a traditional IPA (a damn good one) just with some added depth and texture

Totally turbid, like fresh squeezed juice. Head is quick fading and lacing sticks around for the whole drink.

Nose is strawberry smoothie, pineapple, grapefruit, citrus hops, juice.

Taste is strawberry front which fades to tropical hop characters. Pineapple, mango, sweetened grapefruit, vanilla and strong strawberry on the roof of the mouth. A little bitterness at the end cut by the sugar and then a tiny alcohol bite.

Creamier than the average IPA for sure.

Good beer. Worth getting if the opportunity presents itself. Maybe not the prettiest beer in a glass, but I don't take much stock in appearance.

16 oz can, dated 4/19/17, poured into a teku

A- A super hazy dirty straw color with a two finger white head.

S- Strawberries, vanilla, tropical fruits, mango, guava, some citrus, slightly dank. Almost smells strawberry ice cream.

T- Tropical fruits, some citrus, strawberries, vanilla, some lactose, resin/piney finish.

M- Smooth, creamy, medium body.

O- A great Milkshake IPA, strawberries and vanilla are nicely balanced with the hops. Very easy to drink.

Pours a very cloudy dark golden yellow color with ripe banana and pineapple juice hues. Really cloudy/murky with hints of mango smoothie. One finger white foam head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Decent retention lasting most of the way through. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.

Dank, slightly sweet aroma with earthy resins and fresh cut grass countered by tropics, light fruit sweetness and lactic funk. Strawberry and cream with mango, papaya, pineapple and guava. Lactic creaminess stands out as it warns. Some grassy pine with straw, soil and sticky nugs. Interesting, but the strong lactic presence is slightly odd and off putting in a hoppy beer.

Full body, chewy and slightly viscous with a blast of dank, earthy bitterness lingering over the sweeter notes and creamy mouthful into a bone dry finish. Creamy texture but finishes crisp and clean. Surprisingly easy to drink considering heaviness of mouthfeel up front. Dank earthy resins with kind bud, soil, grass, pine needle and spruce tip. Countered by tart citrus and tropical sweetness. Fleshy pink grapefruit and orange wedge with candied citrus peel, clementine, blood orange, ruby red grapefruit and lemon pith. There's also some sweet lemon curd with light berries. Strawberries stand out as it warns with tart jammy sweetness countered by lactic creaminess. Didn't think I would like the milk/lactose but it adds sweetness without really hurting the mouthfeel. Complex, well balanced and deceptively crushable. Another great hoppy beer from Tired Hands.

Tall silver can...12/16/16

Pour with moderate haze and also obvious bits of floating sediment....eggshell frothy and lasting cap, leaving all sorts of low sheeting and bits and bars of thicker lacing.

Its strawberries on the nose along with the expected tropical fruit hops

Fruited up IPA with strawberries in charge, I also get grapefruit and some grape juice. Tropical fruit infused hops notes in the back ground, but the sweet fruit is pretty strong and a bit to strong for my liking

...I'd like to try some of the other milkshake brews with different fruits...its an enticing concept...just not sure if strawberries are the best fruit to fill the bill. Quality final pour, adds a load of yeast, nuttyness..and more interest

Worth a try...might be a great starter IPA for newcomers to the wild and wacky world of new fangled IPA

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch head that dissipates down to a ring with nice lacing, the body? Yikes! I could spoon that shit out of the bottom of my snifter after it settles.. Nose of strawberry and something else with virtually no hops detected. Tastes of strawberry with slight vanilla. Feel is okay. Overall, yet another fail. I just haven't liked any from this milkshake series.

16 oz can poured into a tapered pint glass. Canned on July 26, 2016. Only available at the release.

L - semi dark mango yellow color, super hazy with lots of yeast floating around. Thick white head, light lacing on the glass

S - fruit is well on the nose. Strawberry, mango, pineapple, coconut, sweetness from the lactose. Hard to make out the hops, which is typical in fruit IPAs

T - hey we got some hops! I think high alpha hops were included, grapefruit and pine are the notes. Sweetness from the strawberry intertwined with the hops, and last but not least the creaminess from the lactose. Just superb

F - amazing balance throughout the experience. Silky smoothness to the texture. Medium light alcohol. Hops definitely linger, but smoothness is the key

O - this is what you call a dream beer. I have been very lucky to try just about every beer I could ever want and this was one of them. I'd like for THBC to make a chocolate or white chocolate milkshake like they did with Other Half again. Absolutely delicious, worth the wait in line in 95 degree weather! Cheers!
